Engagement Celebration

Hi Friends~

News on my car.... I did get my car back Friday....it's all fixed now!  YAY!  It is so nice driving my own car again!  Today it's snowing here....go figure the weatherman said snow flurries in the morning and it's already the afternoon and we are STILL getting snow...probably got a couple inches already!  YUCK!  Just like this past week the weatherman called for 1 inch of snow on Tuesday and we got 10 inches!  NOT fun trying to drive home from school in that!  Oh well...today I am home so that means it's a good day to stay in my jammies and craft!

This creation I am sharing today is a card that I made from my best friend....her birthday was on Valentine's Day and her boyfriend surprised her with a DIAMOND RING!  In honor of the good news I made a Happy Engagement Card for them....and what better stamps to use than the new city collection ones from WOJ!
I love these two stamps together...doesn't it look like Oakley is admiring his new fiance, Willow?  I have used the Pink Paislee Cupid Collection papers again....Barb still has these over at EIO too.  The middle panel was punched with my new MS border punch and new SU border punch...I really like these two together.

Willow and Oakley were colored with my Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I used a tip from Suzanne Dean's "watercolor with your Copics tutorial."  She mentioned in her tutorial that to get more shading in your image to use a gray colored marker.  For my images I have used N1 to add the shading effect and I really think that little bit of gray sure makes the images pop!  If you haven't checked out her tutorial you must...she has AWESOME tips...plus she has many copic tutorials....I learned to color from her very first PDF Copic Coloring file....Thanks for the GREAT tutorials Suzanne!  Glossy Accents was added to Willow's glass for shine.  The border around my images was doodled by me with a Copic Multiliner, and then I used my Versamark Dazzle and stamped a flower border stamp along the edge and used my perfect pearls in blush and rubbed it over the stamped image for a fun but soft iridescent effect.

The inside has been decorated with the same papers.  I used my Inkadinkadoo ring stamp that I got for $.98 at Michaels in the clearance section a while back....added two hearts from my MS punch to represent our great friends!

In this final image I tried to capture some of the shimmer and sparkle of the image...of course it's much more sparkly IRL.  I used my Copic Spica in sand to trace the swirls on Willow's dress.  Then I used my Copic Spica in Chocolate and added sparkle and texture to Willow's hair.  Finally if you look really closely you can see that I added Silver Stickles to Willow's necklace....AND to her finger so it looks like she has an engagement ring on! :)
I hope you have enjoyed my creation....I get to see my friend tomorrow night at a banquet and can't wait to give her this card!  She's a card maker too so I know she will treasure it!

CONGRATULATIONS JESSE & KOLIA!
Don't forget over at EIO you can still earn your FREE ribbon!  Click -->HERE<-- to find out how!

WOJ Challenge #68

Last week was a terrible week....and then to stop it off Thursday I wrecked my car.  On my way home Thursday night I hit a raccoon and did $2500 worth of damage to my car.  Never thought a rodent could cause that much damage huh?  Neither did I!  Mr. Coon put a hole in my radiator, and damaged more car stuff that I know nothing about (lol) and in the end it had to be towed.  Thank Goodness my insurance is AWESOME and my poor car is getting fixed as you read this!  YAY!  I'm hoping all the bad news is behind now!

As you know today is WOJ day! YAY...that's good news, despite the bad I've just told you!  hee hee! The challenge over at WOJ Challenge blog, this week's a sketch challenge by the fabulous Bev!  I have used Willow Dancing...as soon as I saw this stamp I knew I wanted to make a Girl's Night Out care package.
I've used some fun new papers by TPC Studio.  Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I've used a new Fiskars punch and metallic silver cs for the leaves in my flower ensemble.  The rhinestone swirls in the upper left hand corner were hand drawn by me and then I placed pink rhinestones over my sketch marks (thanks to Bev for the lovely idea) this is a great way to save money...as those swirls can be pretty pricey!

Willow has been colored with my Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  Mini black pearls were used for her necklace and bracelet.

Here is the finished inside of the card/box.  Every girl needs a compact mirror, sparkly lipgloss and lotion for a night out on the town!

The back has been decorated with the same papers.

Willow was also decked out with lots of shimmer. I've used my Sakura clear pen on her shoes, cheeks, and eyelids.  Then I used my new illuminate Smooch on her purse, bracelet, and sash on her dress.  Oh my goodness do I love this new Smooch...it's amazing!  It gives an amazing iridescent sparkle! Love this and will be using it on everything I am sure! :)  Star Dust Stickles were used on the flowers to give them extra pizzaz.

I hope you've enjoyed my project!  Make sure you head over to the WOJ Challenge Blog to check out all the other DT memeber's inspiration!

ETA...this creation is now posted for sale in my store...which you can find -->here<--.

Hello~ Are you ready for another WOJ Challenge!  This week our challenge is swirls and pearls....this is right up my alley!  I decided to make a heart purse using Kirsten's tutorial you can find -->here<--.  I altered it a little bit as I didn't have cardboard hearts....so I used my Spellbinder hearts to improvise.  This is actually filled with LOTS of chocolate and I am giving it to my Mom and Dad for Valentine's....I was a little late getting them their present.

I've used Melinda hugging heart and colored her with my Copics and added diamond stickles to her wings.

 Here is one side.

And then the other where I added a nice big sheer bow with some more Wild Orchid flowers and a heart charm.  Sorry this is a little late getting posted today...have a lot going on....and I didn't want my mom to see this early this morning before she went to work.  I'm going to swing by her work and surprise her with this and hope to bring a little bit of sunshine to her day!

Happy Belated Valentine's!

Happy Belated Valentine's!  I hope you had a marvelous day with the sweeties in your life!  I was hoping to have a nice and relaxing day.....watch the NASCAR race with my hubby and do some crafting...however, instead I got a lovely migraine so I got to spent most of the day sleeping.  Darn headaches!  Thank goodness today I am feeling mucho better!

Since I didn't get craft time in I thought I would share my valentine goodies that I got.  My hubby surprised me with a boquet of gorgeous flowers...and the vase was even pink!  How AWESOME is that?!

EIO Friday Challenge - Bling It Up!

Today I am hosting the Friday Challenge over at Embellish!  This week's it's all about BLING....sparkles, shimmer, anything that shines or glistens!  Your challenge is to make a card/layout/creation using at least 2 TYPES OF BLING!!!  Click -->here<-- to participate!  I'd love to see what you come up with!

I've again used the Pink Paislee Cupid papers....are you getting sick of seeing them yet?  I absolutely love them...must be because there is pink and brown in the collection...hee hee!  For my bling I have used rhinestones and stickles.  Rhinestones are in the MS border and of course the big rhinestone flower.  Then I went crazy with my star dust stickles and it ended up all over this card....on the flowers, the ruffles on Tilda's dress and hair bows, and along the edge of the sentiment tag. This card is nice and sparkly!!!

Tilda of course was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I also used my gel pen to doodle the dots on the scalloped circle...I love how it made the dark brown scallop pop!

I wanted my cherry blossom to match Tilda's dress so I took my Copic ABS and used R20 and R22 to change my white cherry blossom to pink!  Now it's a perfect match!  I do LOVE my ABS!!!!
From this angle you can see all the star dust sparkling away!  You can also see that I embossed the blue panel behind Tilda with my brand new Cuttlebug mini hearts folder!  I can see using this one a lot! Those heart as soooo cute!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend!  I just got my new WOJ City Girls in the mail yesterday so I can't wait to ink them up and play play play all weekend!!!

Happy Saturday Everyone!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  As promised, I have another fun candy container to share with you!  This one I created for my brother....I didn't want to fancy it up as much as my sister's (which you are see -->HERE<--) because you know boys don't care for frills!
I've used Carl who is from one of the newest digi sets from Stamps and Smiles!  If you remember I used this cutie in my Valentine Shaker card, -->here<--.  For this project I sized him at 2 inches.  Used my Nellie die with my Pink Paislee Cupid papers again.  Then used my Bow Easy to create the Valentine bow for an extra touch.

I used my Copics to color Carl, and accented him with a white gel pen.  For his top I added dazzling diamond dust.  I hope my bro likes this!!!

WOJ Sweet Treats

My Mom came over today and we crafted all day!  We had a lot of fun coloring, giggling, *talking* to our stamped images, and getting full of glitter!  I managed to decorate two Valentine tins (one from my brother and the other for my sister) and color some fun images!   Tonight I will share my sister's tin that I of course used a Whiff of Joy image on!  (Tomorrow I will share my brother's tin.)  I'm entering this in the Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge of Valentine's Theme and ABC Designs "Sweetheart Challenge."

I believe I picked this cute tin up at Walmart, but it's been hanging out in my craft room for a few weeks now so I can't be 100% certain that where I got them. Opppss too much shopping lately....lol!  The tin has really cute heart cut outs that go all the way around the tin so that is what I wove the ribbon through.  For my image I have used Melinda hugging heart!

Here you can see the scalloped heart on the other side.  I've used my Pink Paislee Cupid paper for the heart!  Barb still has this paper collection over at EIO.  Plus there is still FREE shipping with order over $50 by using code 4SP9HD at checkout.  Don't forget there is still the GREAT American Crafts Sale going on too where you can get FREE RIBBON!!!  Here's the two ways you can get that ribbon:

1.  Every $5.00 you purchase in American Crafts products gets you a FREE spool of ribbon; and
2.  Every purchase of Thickers also gets you a FREE spool of ribbon.

Soooo....if you purchase 3 packages of Thickers and $10.00 worth of American Crafts products you get 5 FREE SPOOLS OF RIBBON!!!!  Click the following image to go and shop! :)
Embellish-It Scrapbooking

Now...back to my tin:

Melinda was colored with my Copics and accented with my white gel pen.  I added star dust stickles to her wings.  Small hearts in the upper right corner are stamped with a Verve stamp from the Hearts Desire set and the mini chocolate hearts are from the middle of a MS border punch that were laying on my desk from a recent card I just made.
I hope you enjoy your weekend!  We have a super bowl party to go to on Sunday so that should be fun...enjoying the day with our friends!  For those of you out east I hope you are staying warm and safe with the huge snowstorm....I don't envy you at all because that is normally the weather we have here....I'm so ready for SPRING, as I am sure all of you are too!

Sweet Love

Today I have some AMAZING news to share with you!  It all began this past Saturday....I was in a tax class for 5 hours getting certified so that I can prepare income taxes this tax season.  I will be working with lower income people through a program known as VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)...I'm so excited to start assisting and help those people who need it, and what a great experience it will be.....but that's not the good news!  As I was sitting in class, bored during the beginning of the session because it was all the info I learned in my last semester tax class, I got a message from Donalda asking me if I would:
Guest Design for the month of February
I didn't even have to think for a second.....my answer of course was a HUGE YES!!!  Thank you so very much Donalda for asking me to join your amazing team for this month!!!!  I am honored to be a part of this super talented team of amazing ladies!!!

Without further ado here is my first card as a part of the WOJ Challenge DT!

Our challenge this week is LOVE!  We want to see your creation with love!  I chose to use Sweet Teenage Lizzie with box of chocolates.  The sketch is based on Sketch Saturday which I flipped upside down. Papers are an older Basic Grey collection called Eva.

Lizzie was colored with my Copics.  I added Twinkling H2Os in the shaded areas for some more depth and of course to add shimmer. :)

The inside is decorated with some more BG Eva papers, hearts, and mini pearls inside the hearts for some added elegance.

And here is another angled view so you can see the shimmer from the Twinkling H2Os! I hope you have enjoyed my first creation for the WOJ Challenge Blog!  I hope you come over and join in the fun there and see what the other amazing girls have created!

Tilda waiting for You!

Hi Everyone~

This weekend between homework and income tax class I had some time to color....and today I put a few cards together!  I have a special surprise coming up on Wednesday and can't wait to share it with you...until then.....I have a fun Tilda card to show you....and of course I used my FAVORITE color combo of pink and brown!

I have used Heidi Grace papers that I picked up last year.  These are all shimmery and sparkly.  Of course I finished this card long after dark so I had to use my Ott Lite to take photos....oh how I wish I had sunlight instead!

Miss Tilda was colored with my copics and I added Twinkling H20s for added depth and shimmer.  (Twinkling H2Os: Dress - Pink Crocus; Shirt - Pink Azalea; Canister - Hunter Gray.)  It's hard to tell but I airbrushed the background with RV000 for a very light pink touch.

This week's challenge over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is to use buttons and bows.  I created this multi-loop bow with my Bow Easy (love that thing...I always had the darndest time trying to tie bows before...not anymore!)  I wanted small heart buttons but of course didn't have what I wanted so I made my own buttons.  I used a heart punch and then just drew button holes on them...they are just what I wanted!

The finished inside I used a tiny canister that matches the  one on the front and filled it with lots of little chocolate hearts.

I'm entering this fun card in the following challenges:
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Buttons & Bows
Spoonful of Sugar - Freestyle
Just Magnolia - Hearts & Flowers

Recipe:
