Sarah Kay Lemonade Purse Set

Hello~

I'm sure you remember this card from the other day! Well I also made a cute purse to go along with the card. I really can't get enough of the Basic Grey Lemonade paper pack! And this new Sarah Kay image is so darling with all of her flowers!

Here is my purse! I am planning on putting together a tutorial for this cutie soon! It really was very easy to make!
And here is the inside. I used a magnet "hidden" under the papers to hold the purse closed.
I'm very pleased with how this turned out.

Recipe:
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Copic Spica - Clear (on the flowers in the image for extra glitz)
Tools: Spellbinders Eyelets Pendant, Spellbinders Nesties Labels 1, MS branch and leaf punches, Fiskars Apron Lace border punch
Embellishments:
diamond dust Stickles (on the yellow roses for some bling), magnets,
roses and flowers are from my stash, May Arts Satin Ribbon, May Arts Ric Rac, Imaginisce Pink Flamingo Flower, Sweet Pea Flower Soft

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your Sunday!

School's In Session at ISS!

It's the end of the month and you know what that means....it's time for another InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!!! Woo-Hoo!!!!

Grab your Books, Pencils & Copics,
Put on your Backpacks

Because today we are headed
BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

Welcome to the InStyle Stamps August Blog Hop!

Our theme this month: "Back to School"

With summer coming to an end that means school is going to be back in session soon! We have classes, teachers, books, exams, and homework on the brain now! It's hard to believe that summer is almost done! My classes start on Sept. 3rd! I'm sad that vacation is done, but now I am getting into my accounting classes so that makes school a little more tolerable! lol! Speaking of school, we have many new school releases over at InStyle Stamps today so make sure you head over to the store to check them out and place your order!

Like usual, you get to decide which DT member inspires you the most! After you go and view all of the other DT's projects (their links are in my side bar), make sure you head on over to the InStyle Stamps Blog to vote for your favorite project (I hope that my teacher gift set has inspired you and would love to have your vote :) The DT member who gets the most votes will win a prize....AND YOU CAN WIN A PRIZE JUST FOR VOTING!!! All you have to do is place your vote; then leave a comment on the post with the poll to be entered for a PRIZE! You need to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing. The contest will remain open until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, August 29th, and winners will be announced on Monday, September 1st! We also have some news that will be posted on the InStyle Stamps Blog along with the winners, so you don't want to miss that post!!!

Now....onto my project:
I got to use the new schoolhouse image and Janice! Aren't they both so much fun?! Of course I colored with my Copics so I am a happy girl! The apple ornament was purchased at HL, and I altered it with Janice. I thought this would make a lovely decoration for a teacher's desk, accompanied by my schoolhouse card, which I used the recessed frame tutorial from SCS to make this fun card! My Scor-Pal was a huge help to make the recessed frame, which I think gives the card that little extra somethin' somethin'! My card showcasing the brand new schoolhouse stamp that will be available for purchase today!
A different view so you can see how the recessed frame looks.
The finished inside of the card.
A close up of Janice on the teacher ornament.
Now....Don't forget to go vote for your favorite DT member's project over at the InStyle Blog!

Recipe:

Method Monday at InStyle Stamps!

Hello to all my friends! I hope you are all having a great Monday! I know the beginning of the week isn't always the most fun....but I am hoping my tutorial will perk you up a bit and get you in a crafty mood! It is my turn to host Method Monday over at InStyle Stamps, and I thought it would be fun to create a different kind of card. I found a tutorial over on SCS by the wonderful Beate to follow to create this fun Window Wiper Card! I hope you have as much fun with it as I did!

Here is a pic of the card closed:

Supplies you will need:
2 pieces of cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 8 1/2"
1 piece of cardstock measuring 1 1/2" x 3"
Adhesive
Pencil & Ruler
Scor-Pal
You will begin by taking a piece of your cardstock that measures 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and lay it so that the 8 1/2" side is along the top of your Scor-Pal. Make score marks at 1 1/2" and 3"
Repeat the same score marks ( 1 1/2" and 3") on the 2nd piece of cardstock that measure 4 1/4" x 8 1/2".
Fold on your score marks. Make sure that when you are folding the 3" score mark is going to be folded behind the longer piece as shown below.
Then you will take your cardstock that measures 1 1/2" x 3" and put the corner into the 1" mark on your Scor-Pal and line up the other corner as close to the 1" mark along the left side of the Scor-Pal as possible. Example is shown below. Then make a diagonal score mark as shown. (If you don't have a Scor-Pal then you can use your ruler and pencil to measure 1 1/2" down your piece of cardstock and create a diagonal score mark manually.)
Fold over on your score mark and place adhesive on the triangle that was created when you folded the cardstock.
Turn over one of your pieces of cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and you will line up your diagonal score mark with the top of the middle section (as shown below in the picture).
Keeping that piece of cardstock still turned over you will place adhesive on both of the ends (the far left edge and the far right edge). Take your 2nd piece of cardstock and adhere it to the one you just added adhesive too. Make sure that it faces the same way as shown below. Make sure that the score lines are on the left this time.
This is how the window wiper will tuck into the card when you push the sides together.
And here is the finished card. Now you are ready to decorate as you wish.
For my card I have used Ava from InStyle Stamps. I just love their fairy line....so cute and whimsical! I decorated my wiper so that when the card opens up you see this flower pop up! I have decorated the two far left panels and stamped a sentiment in one of those rectangles. You could also leave one blank if you wanted to write a special note on it.
A close up of Ava the cutie pie:
Here is a close up of the window wiper that pops up:
And finally the two side panels:
Recipe:
Stamps: Ava Sitting by InStyle Stamps, Great Impressions Sentiment Stamp

Papers: Cosmo Cricket Everafter Collection, SU Cardstock
Tools:
MS border punch, Spellbinder Blossom nesties, MS leaf and branch punches

Embellishments:
Prima and Imaginisce White Elephant flowers, Cherry Blossom, Prima say it in crystal center, star dust stickles (for fairy wings), rhinestone from my stash (for the top of Ava's magic wand).

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I can't wait to see what you create! If you play with this tutorial, please leave a link here so I can come and see your creation!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

My Michigan Pictures!

Here are two of my favorite pictures from our mini vacation that I tried posting last night but Mr. Blogger didn't want to cooperate! Thank goodness he is being nice tonight!

One day we spent on Mackinac Island, we took our bikes and road 20 miles all over the island. For those who don't know about Mackinac Island it is an island that is 8.2 miles all the way around with trails going all over the island. It is like it's own little town, and no vehicles are allowed. The only vehicles on the island are the 2 ambulances and a couple fire trucks....otherwise their taxis are horse carriages or bikes. It was a lot of fun! I haven't been to the island since I was 14 years old so it was lots of fun to go back and see everything again.

Here is a picture of Arch Rock. It's a rock that is on a bluff that over look Lake Michigan on the one side of the island.
And the next picture is a picture of the Mackinaw Bridge taken from the island. The bridge is over 5 miles long and connects upper Michigan to lower Michigan. It was erie going over the bridge at first because you are so high in the air.
Hubby and I had a wonderful mini vacation, but we are glad to be home now too. Although that means that school is just around the corner :( Two weeks of vacation left and then it will be homework again. Ugh!

Tomorrow is the Embellish-It Farmer's Market Blog Hop! You don't want to miss this!!! It's going to be *Fresh*

Thanks for stopping by and hope you come back and say hi tomorrow!

Greeting from Michigan!

Hi Friends~

I hope you are all having a fantabulous week!

Copic Certification was AMAZING! I can't wait to try out all the new techniques that I have learned! If any of you get the chance to take certification class it's definitely worth the money!

I'm sure you are all wondering where I have been this week....well after I got back from Copic Class....Hubby and I headed to Michigan for a mini vacation before I head back to school in a couple weeks. We are sadly finishing up our vacation of Mackinaw City....it's our last day here and tomorrow we head back home. I thought I would pop in quick to say hello and try to share some photos but Mr. Blogger is being fussy tonight....so I will share some photos when I get home!

I can't wait to get back to my craft room and create! Being away for almost a whole week is torture....but I have gotten some relaxing reading in.....almost have another James Patterson book read! (Mom: tell Dad I got another good book for him to read! :)

Another Original....By Me!

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Here in Wisconsin we are in a major heat wave.....hot and humid! I like hot...but not humid! Guess that means it's a good time to stay indoors with the AC and craft!

Today, I want to share my final project from my summer art class. We had to either do an achromatic (black & white) or monochromatic (black, white, and one other color) painting. As you can see I went with the monochromatic and used my tube of magenta paint. It's so awesome mixing just one color of paint with different hues of white, black, and gray to see what you can all get for a color. Of course my topic was flowers....because I feel that is the only thing I can draw decently! lol! I was scared to paint...but after this project...I think paint and I are slowly becoming great friends....who knows maybe I will paint something on my own in the future!

I also have a card to share with you that I made for Embellish-Online. I wanted to make a card with the fun and bright American Craft Backyard Collection papers without using any stamps....I almost succeeded until I used my small "hello" stamp for the tag. The flowers and butterflies are cut out from the Buzz paper and I used some wire for the antennas on the butterflies. The flowers and butterflies are pop'd up with foam tape.

Card Recipe:
Stamps
: Hello Stamp is for $1 bin somewhere

Inks
: Momento Tuxedo Black,
Papers
: American Crafts Backyard Collection

Tools
: EK Success border punch, MS tag and leaf punches
Embellishments
: May Arts 1/2" Ric Rac,
May Arts 1/4" satin ribbon
wire that I got from my mom! (Thanks mom ;)

I'm getting all excited for my Copic Certification class! I leave Saturday with class on Sunday....Woo-Hoo!!! I best make my hotel reservation today!

Thanks for stopping by!

More Wedding Bells!

Yesterday I showed you one of the wedding cards that I made for my parents to take to one of their weddings. Today, I am sharing the card that I talked about that I took over from my Mom! :) When I got to the parents' house yesterday my mom had the maroon base, white layer and black embossed paper out and asked for my help. I kind of took over the card from there *blush*! Sorry Mom! She did ask for my help! hee hee!! Although she loved how it turned out! :) I had to use another of my new WOJ images from the Wedding Collection! I love how the coloring turned out with my Copics, and I think I even got the hang of making the veil on the bride look like it was on top of her hair! That was my personal struggle (making things transparent) while coloring...but I think it turned out very well!

A close up of the bride & groom! I showed this picture to my hubby, and he goes, "what are they sitting in a soup bowl"....hello honey...it's really a carriage! Boys! I tell ya! At least I got a good laugh. So what do you think of my soup bowl....ha ha!
And the finished inside of the card! My mom wanted to use the invitation on the inside so this is what I came up with (of course I blurred out the personal stuff)! I love how it turned out! I used my new borderabilities and they are LOTS of fun! However, when using the one that only embosses (you can see it on the right hand side of the card) it does not cut out the top part. Is that normal? If anyone has any info of these that would be greatly appreciated. My mom recently got the edgeabilities and we are having problems getting them to emboss and cut all the way out too. I am sure it's the operator and not the product! lol!
Recipe:
Stamps: Wedding Carriage by WOJ
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics,
Papers: Deja Vue Wedding Collection, DCWV Le Creme Collection, and other misc. papers from mom's house!

Tools
: Spellbinders Renaissance Borderabilities & Pendants, EK Success leaf punch, Nesties Labels 4 and Labels 1, MS ribbon punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder
Embellishments: Twinkling H2o in oyster, flower soft, flowers, ribbon and pearls from my mom's stash.

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to leave a message,
I greatly appreciate it!

Wedding Bells Are Ringing

I had such a fun day today! Yesterday, hubby and I did some shopping....I did lots of craft supply shopping....so today I went to my parents' house to show my mom all of my new toys! I went punch happy during my shopping trip....got loads of autumn and winter punches! While I was at my parents' my mom was working on making a wedding card (as my mom and dad had 2 weddings to attend today) so when I got there my mom asked me to help her, which constituted me taking over the cards. lol! The card I am sharing now is the second card that I made....I only had about 1 hour to put this together...and if you know me it takes me FOREVER to make one card because I can't decide what I want to do. (It usually takes me all day to make one card!) For being on a tight time frame I think this came out beautifully! I love the WOJ Wedding Collection! I will have the other wedding card to share with you in the next few days!

A close up of the wedding cake stamp. The bride & groom and cake itself are colored with Twinkling H2o in oyster. I love the soft shimmer it gives! The finished inside. I decided to go with the bride and grooms initials for a monogram tag.
Closer views of the inside:

Recipe:
Stamps: Wedding Cake by WOJ
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics,

Embellishments: roses, Twinkling H2o in oyster, flowers and ribbon from my mom's stash.

I also want to share with you that my mom has her own blog! She makes some amazing cards and I convinced her that she needs to share them with all of you, my great friends!!! Please, click HERE to go and visit her and show her some love!

Thanks for stopping by!
