Rockin' to the BEAT!

Hi Friends~

I hope everyone had a joyous weekend! I had a great one! Saturday I spent the day with my best friend, we went and got pedicures and did some shopping (which included crafty shopping...my FAVORITE!) Today, I had stamp club so getting together with my mom and crafty friends is always a blast! We made some fun cards and a project that I can't wait to share with you! It will be coming up for the ISS Blog Hop! And all I can say is you don't want to miss it!

Today I want to share a Club Anime project with you! This is Corrine, isn't she so adorable listening to her Ipod! I can only image she is listening to 80's music....hee hee! That's my ultimate favorite music. I hand made the background paper that Corrine is popped up on. I used a piece of glossy paper and then took pink and black ink and applied it to the paper with a sponge. Then I ran the paper through my Cuttlebug with my new Victoria folder. I found the music brads at HL and when I saw them I knew they'd be perfect for my 80's lover!
And here is Miss. Corrine again! I used some metallic pink DMC floss to make her headset strings. I've added Crystal Glamour Dust to her earphone and Ipod....a girl needs a sparkly Ipod right?!
Recipe:

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! It was so nice being all done with exams and being able to relax this weekend! I even got to play in my craft corner! Yay!!!

Today I am spotlighting the new Pink Paislee Amber Road Collection available over at Embellish-Online! When I got these papers from Barb I was drooling over them! They are GORGEOUS....so elegant and pretty in person! I decided to use the Just Magnolia sketch for this card! It's actually my Mom's birthday card...and she loved it! :)
I colored Blueberry Tilda from the Yummy for your Tummy Collection with my Copics. Cut her out with my oval nesties and popped her up on a scalloped oval, of course adding some beautiful pearls to a few of the scallops. Added some Heather Flower Soft to Tilda's basket. Flowers are all Primas with American Craft Pearls in the middle. The rhinestone swirls are BG Blingz. I used my Bow Easy to make the delish ribbon bows....seriously the Bow Easy is a MUST have...it makes tieing bows so fast and fun and easy!

Here's a close up of the cutie pie snowman from the set! Isn't he adorable? The stamped snowflakes inside the snowglobe and the white snowflakes on the dark blue scallop are also a part of this fantastic set! The white snowflakes on the dark blue scallop are stamped in White Staz-On and then I used my Clear Spica to color over them to give them some sparkle.

Stamps and Smiles - Preview Day 4

Hi Friends and Welcome to Day 4 of the Stamps and Smiles Fall/Winter Release! Today the DT has a fun sketch challenge to share with you over at the Stamps and Smiles Blog! We'd love for you to join us so head on over and check it out!

Today's featured stamp set is Trim a Tree! This set is super duper cute! In my samples I have used it to make an elegant card, and also a cute card, so whatever direction you would like to go with this set it is that versatile!

My first card I stamped my tree on a labels 1 nestie and then used Christmas Green and Russet Red flower soft. Background is created with the Fleur De Lis pendant die, and the corners are used the small die in the set and cutting them in half.

My second sample is using the Do Not Open Until Christmas sentiment stamp and the different ornament stamps from the Trim A Tree set! The ornaments were colored with my Spica Gold, Red, and Green pens for that glittery look! I decided to make little tags that look like they are hanging on a tree branch. I popped each ornament off of the tag with a glue dot. Used my Bow Easy again to make the gorgeous bow!

Stamps and Smiles - Preview Day 3

Hi Friends~

Welcome to Day 3 of the Stamps and Smiles Fall/Winter Release! Today we are showing you the Tis' the Season to be Jolly set! I adore Jolly the snowman; however Jolly is missing today! Can you help us find him? Please check the other DT members blogs, and when you find Jolly, head to the Stamps and Smiles blog, leave a comment with the answer and sign in with Mr. Linky! You can win this AMAZING set for helping us find our new friend!

No, he's not hiding here! Keep looking!

Now, on to my card for today. I decided to use Jolly and added a scarf and hat to keep her warm in the snow. The sentiment is also from the set! I wanted to make a winter card that didn't use the traditional winter/christmas colors and I love how this came out!

Jolly was colored with my Copics. Dp is the K & Company Peppermint Twist. I used my Spellbinders curved rectangles to make a tag for Jolly be popped up on. Border punch in the background is the Apron Lace Fiskars punch. Snowflakes are punched with MS punch and Marvy small snowflake. The bow was tied with my Bow Easy...this tool is a must have, so easy to use and you get a perfect bow everytime!

Here's a close up of Jolly. I used liquid applique on her hat for the fluffy look, and use the new polar white flower soft. Oh my word is the polar white flower soft beautiful IRL! It's the perfect look for snow!

On top of the Copic coloring, I have also used Twinkling H2O in oyster to add a soft shimmer to Jolly. Here's a close up to see the shimmer:

Stamps and Smiles Fall/Winter Release - Day 2

Hello! Welcome back for Day 2 of the Stamps and Smiles Fall/Winter Release! Today's featured stamp set is Cuppy's Winter Wonderland and we have a wonderful sketch for you to play along with.

This set has so many fun images to play with...first off there's Cuppy and you can dress her as you wish, I decided to give her a Santa hat and scarf. The snowflakes are also a part of the set, along with the mini Cuppy in the middle of my fabric flower. Of course Cuppy was colored with my Copics. I stamped the snowflakes in Momento Rich Cocoa and Versamark Dazzle for some subtle shimmer in real life. I added white liquid applique to Cuppy's hat for some added dimension. I just LOVE liquid applique, it gives you that "Santa Hat Fluff" look!
I found some wonderful tutorials in the past few weeks and decided to try a couple out on this card! First off is the fabric flower, these are so FAST and EASY to make! Heather Bailey has an amazing tutorial where she uses the fabric she creates and makes these masterpiece flowers. I first saw these amazing flowers on Dawn McVey's blog and had to give it a whirl. Seriously I made 2 of these flowers in less than 5 minutes. I see my new addiction becoming fabric now! Eeek!
The second new technique that I tried was making a ribbon frame. Yvonne had a fun tutorial over at StampArtic so I decided to give that a try too! I am entering this card in the Caardvarks Challenge to use ribbon in a wonderful way! Another fun and easy addition to make a card beautiful! Not as fast as making the fabric flowers....but quite easy! Maybe I can use up some of my never ending supply of ribbon now! I swear I could open up a ribbon shop at my house!
Now make sure you head on over to the Stamps and Smiles blog to see what the rest of the DT has created!

I so love this cute scarecrow! I have colored my scarecrow and corn cobs using my Copics and Spica Gold Glitter pen. I just love the autumn flower soft, which I have the scarecrow standing in. The colors in this mix of flower soft are so bright and stunning in person, it adds that perfect fall touch!
I have used my Spellbinders Fleur De Lis small pendant die to create the affect behind my Prima flower.
Here you can see the shimmer and sparkle that I used to accent Mr. Scarecrow and my corn cobs with my Gold Spica pen.
