Welcome to the InStyle Stamps July Blog Hop!

Our theme this month: "Fantasy"

With our theme this month we are thinking knights, princes, princesses, dragons, etc. There are many new fantasy releases over at InStyle Stamps today so make sure you head over to the store to check them out and place your order! Again, you get to decide which DT member inspires you the most! After you go and view all of the other DT's projects (their links are in my side bar), make sure you head on over to the InStyle Stamps Blog to vote for your favorite project (I hope that I have inspired you and would love to have your vote :) The DT member who gets the most votes will win a prize....AND YOU CAN WIN A PRIZE JUST FOR VOTING!!! All you have to do is place your vote; then leave a comment on the post with the poll to be entered for a PRIZE! You need to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing. The contest will remain open until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, August 1st, and winners will be announced on Monday, August 3rd!

Now....onto my project:
I got to use the new Princess Gwendolyn Balcony image! She is so adorable and I had a blast coloring her with my Copics! Seeing how this was a fantasy theme, I also decided to use Princess Clarissa. Now which little girl do you know, who loves dressing up as a princess, does not have a purse. I know as a little girl I loved purses and bags, so I decided to make a princess purse. The pink purse was a bargin buy that I found at Michaels. Here's a close up of Princess Clarissa. I stamped her on shrink plastic with Stazon and colored her with my prisma pencils. Then I heated her with my heat tool and after wards clear embossed her for shine (Thanks to my buddy Rach for the wonderful tips!) I them added jump rings and chain to make her into a charm.
Inside the purse is a Princess Notebook. I thought Princess Gwendolyn made a cute scene for a little notebook. I added flower soft for some added texture.

Now....Don't forget to go vote for my project....I mean your favorite DT member's project (LOL) over at the InStyle Blog!

I'm BACK!

I'm BACK....I've finally returned to the wonderful world of blogland...how I have missed stopping by and saying hi to everyone! I finished my last summer class today, and am VERY pleased to say that I am happy with my grades....it was a very stressful interim and never again will I take 3 accelerated classes at the same time! Whew...I can now breathe and get back to my craft corner....oh how I have missed it so much! I sure haven't stopped supply shopping while I was in school....so I have many new stamps waiting to get ink'd up and lots of new toys shouting they want to come out and play!

Even though school was stressful, and my art class turned out to be more stressful than fun, I did make some AMAZING friends over the past 6 weeks! They definitely made the class enjoyable through all stress! Today, I want to share a card that I made for my new friend, Sandy! She was a life saver, and my art mentor (she can paint like no one else...I swear she is going to be famous...and then I can say....yep that's my friend)! She helped me so much with projects, and her advice was so appreciated, as I am not a painter...I am a Copic Queen! lol!

Here's the front of the card. I used a Sarah Kay stamp and BG paper that I got from Embellish-Online.com. If you would like to shop you can click on the link in my sidebar which will take you to the store and you can get 20% OFF your total order by using the code GLITTER!

Inky Impressions 2nd DT Call!

Hi! I hope everyone is doing GREAT! I only have 3 more days of school left! Woot Woot...the countdown is on! YAY! With that said, I have more good news....Inky Impressions is looking for a few more people for their DT!

These stamps are GORGEOUS, so if you haven't heard of them or seen them yet...you have to go HERE to check them out! I can't wait to order some of these cuties and ink them up! Lili is my favorite!!!

Part of the DT Call is to share one of your favorite cards and a favorite project for consideration. We all know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Copics so I chose this WOJ card that I feel showcases my coloring with my lovelies as I have colored the whole scene here!

And a close up of my coloring:
And this is my favorite project that I have created to date:

To take a plain wooden star keepsake box and turn it into a treasure was so much fun! I had a blast decorating this, from the pasting and measuring, to the cutting and painting...it was so much fun! And of course I had to use my Copics on this project too! I colored the little cutie inside. All the exposed wood was painted with a shimmery taupe paint and it does sparkle a lot IRL!I hope my creations meet Inky Impressions' standard for the DT! I would love the chance to create for Nicole! Thanks for considering me for your DT! I am keeping my fingers, toes, legs, arms, eyes and everything I can crossed!

Backyard Blast - Day 2!

Welcome to the EMBELLISH-ONLINE
Backyard Blast Blog Hop
Day Two!
Our theme this month is Backyard Blast! While we are all enjoying our families, backyard gardens, BBQs, pool parties, picnics, camping, and outdoors this summer the IT Girls were challenged to create an outdoorsy/ summery creation using the wonderful sketch below designed by our fellow IT-Girl Christine! Didn't she do an amazing job?! I love it! This month you have a chance at winning a prize pack consisting of American Crafts Backyard products! These products are so much fun, you don't want to miss the chance to win these!!! In order for your chance to win you just simply have to make a creation with the above sketch, and upload it in the Embellish-Online Gallery with the keyword BLOGHOP1.

In case you missed Day One you need to hop back over to the EI Blog to start out the hop!

Now onto my project! I used papers from the American Crafts Backyard Collection to alter this adorable birdhouse and make a matching card. Since I made a card instead of a scrapbook layout, I changed the 3 images to just one. :)I absolutely adore the American Crafts Backyard Collection paper! It's beautiful! I have used the Boing and Splash sheets on my creations and the blue and brown go together so perfectly!
A close up of my Bird House stamp. I love the flower soft addition to this!
And here's my birdhouse! When I was walking through JoAnn's and saw this on sale I knew it would be so cute altered for my backyard project! I am very pleased how it turned out. I used a taupe color metallic paint to finish off the exposed wood. It added just enough sparkle and shimmer.
And the back of the finished birdhouse.

Don't forget you can get 20% off of your total purchase over at the Embellish Store. Just click on the link in my sidebar and use the code: GLITTER to receive your discount.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you enjoyed your stop here along the hop!

More of My Art!

Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful beginning to your weekend! Mine is super busy! Yesterday I spent all day getting my laptop fixed.....it did have a sassy virus!!! Now it is all better! Although having to get it fixed didn't help me get my 9 online assignments and 2 online exams done...thank god we have a desktop I can work on....although I did miss my laptop! Now she is back home and ready to rock and roll again! Yippee! I can type again when I am on the internet....what a wonderful feeling!

Today, I have a friend's wedding...so I am getting all prettied up by my sister at her new salon she just started working at! Love my personal stylist! Then Sunday I have to work on my painting for my next Art assignment..I can't wait to show you that one! I hope it turns out as good as what I have planned! I am not too good with paint! But practice does make perfect right?! ha ha!

Here is my second Art Class Assignment. We had to use black stonehedge paper, come up with a drawing that had to do with nature, incorporate our fun elements we are learning and then were only allowed to color with Prisma Pencils! I loved being able to use color finally!!! I do have to say this one is definitely getting framed and going into my craft room (when we build our house!) I used flowers as my inspiration (because they were easy to draw...lol)!
A close up of the upper half of the drawing:
And a close up of the lower half:
Thanks for stopping by!
Only 2 more weeks of school left and then I get to blog hop and see all of my friends! Miss you all!!! I definitely am counting down the days when I get to come and visit you!

A Sarah Kay Keepsake!

Since we are getting into painting in my Two Dimensional Art Class I thought I would practice painting over this past weekend. Needed to practice mixing paint, and get comfortable with my paint brushes. While I was practicing my painting on paper, I thought it would be fun to carry painting into my stamping! I got this super cute Sarah Kay stamp in my Embellish-Online DT pack and thought it would be perfect for my project! I can't wait to share more projects with my awesome supplies from Embellish! You have to head over to the store and check out the what's new! Click on the link in my sidebar to go right to the store!!! Remember if you use my sidebar link with the code: GLITTER you get 20% off your total purchases!!!!

So what do you think? I hope you like! I really impressed myself (don’t you love it when that happens?!) I have to thank Dawn, as I got the inspiration from her mug she created a while back for her mom. Thanks hun for all your tips!
And here is a close up!

Tools: paint brushes
Embellishments: N/A
Sorry to make this short! My laptop has been acting up…only when I am online! How weird is that?! I can type in my MS Outlook and MS Office programs but I can’t type when I am online using Internet Explorer….it will only register letters when I peck at them slow (and I am a fast typer so this problem TOTALLY annoys me!) If anyone has had this happen to them the advice would be greatly appreciated! I hate to take my laptop in to get fixed because then I won’t be able to blog…and my school summer session is almost done! I have 2 exams tomorrow…wish me luck! I best get back to studying!

Miss you all!
Thanks for stopping by!

Ahoy-ee Matey!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all doing good! Only 3 more weeks of school left and then I will be able to be back in blogland! YAY!!! I am definitely counting down the days!!! Today I have a fun gift set featuring Nico, a digi image over from InStyle Stamps. I thought Nico was perfect for this fun boy gift set that I wanted to make. This set includes a 12 pack of sidewalk chalk that I decorated to match my Nico card. Here is the fabulous Nico. Isn't he an adorable pirate? You could also color him as if he is a Ninja. Since he's a digi image he is so versatile!
A close up of Nico, he was colored with my Copics and Copic Spicas. He shimmers a lot IRL!
Then here is the sidewalk chalk.

This set will be going up on my For Sale Blog soon! If you are interested in purchasing it prior to being placed on my For Sale Blog, please e-mail me here.

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone is enjoying their wonderful 4th of July weekend! Today I am heading to my hometown parade! My brother is home for the week so he is putting his new truck in the parade! I can't wait to go and take pictures (of course I will share some with you too!) Things have been so unbelievably busy here with school! Most days I get done working on homework at 10PM, go to bed, and wake up to go to school for 9am and study all day again! But in 4 weeks I will have 9 credits out of the way so that will be good! There is a light at the end of the tunnel! I am really enjoying my 2 Dimensional Art Class! It's a lot of work....but so much fun! I was one of those people who said "I can't draw" but after our first assignment I am starting to retract that statement!!!

I thought I would share my first original "Kim's Creation" with all my friends here! For our first assignment we had to create a 7" x 9" piece of artwork only dealing with circles, triangles, and lines. We were only allowed to use a black and white prisma colored pencils. I thought this turned out so aweseome! I can't wait to hear your feedback! And here is a close up of my work that shows you all the different shading elements that I have used!
I can't wait to get back to stamping....but in the mean time the drawing is a fun break away from my craft corner!
If you get a chance hop on over to InStyle Stamps today! Virginia is having an AWESOME 4th of July Blow Out Sale! You dont' want to miss it...there are LOTS of stamps on sale!
I miss you all and can't wait to come and visit your blogs soon!
Thanks for stopping by!
