WOJ #75 - Color Challenge

Hi Everyone~

I am running a tad late with this week's WOJ Challenge....had some things come up!  My card will be up by this afternoon for sure, and I can't wait to share it with you all!!!  YAY I got my card done to share with all of you!  Sorry for the delay....I hope you all enjoy it!

This week is a color challenge!  I love color challenges....this week you are to use YELLOW, GREEN, + One More Color!  My extra color is BLUE...thanks to the help from my Mom.....she helped me pick out papers this week!   Thanks Mom :)

This cutie is from the February WOJ Kit.  I just got this cutie and am loving her and her friends in the kit!  They are so springy!  Papers are K&Company. I've used two different Spellbinders collections for my background behind Miss. WOJ.  I've used Labels One and Labels 12, and then if you look close you can see the fun pearls that I have added to the background.  I've made these pearls with my Cream Viva Decor Pen!  Ooooo I so love these pens....I can't wait to use some of the others that I have gotten.

This girlie was colored with Copics, and then accented with a white gel pen.  I've added diamond stickles to the ribbon on her dress and arm band.  I've used my Chocolate Spica to add some texture and glitz to her hair.

The sentiment is from HL.  I've used the feathering technique to color in the letters and then edged it in diamond stickles.

TIOT - Embossing

Yay it's another Try It Out Tuesday!  Oh how Tuesday are becoming my favorite day of the week....and that means a lot seeing how I am in school all day on Tuesdays!  LOL!  But at the end of the day I love coming home and seeing all the different takes on the lovely challenge that Suzanne gives us! 

Before we get into today's challenge I want to let you know about some new products that Susana has at the SCACD Store! Susan is now carrying the  Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps which are now in stock!  YAY...I love these cutie pie stamps!!!!   Prima flowers are now restocked including the hard to find cameo roses, along with more Spellbinders! 

Now onto this week's challenge which is EMBOSSING....think dry embossing, Cuttlebug folders, and/or embossing powder!

I have to tell you I tried to get lots of different embossings into my card.  I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder over the Spellbinder Heart for the background behind this adorable honey!  I've also used some different embossing powders too! Ranger Holographic embossing powder was used over Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the sentiment to give it an all different color shimmer!  I love this powder!!!  Paper are from the BG Kioshi pack.

Victoria Case Little Anki for SCACD was my stamp of choice this week!  I love this little cutie with all her hearts...which inspired me to use the heart theme through out my card!  Little Anki was colored with Copics.  Her toenails were painted with Sugarberry Smooch for a fun metallic toenail polish look!

My next type of embossing on this card is on the letter!  I've taken my Versamark Marker and colored over the envelope.  Then I've taken clear embossing powder and cover the envelope to give it a fun shine.

Here's a close up of my flower/pin arrangement.  The bow was made with my Bow Easy!  If you don't have one of these you NEED to get one!  This is one of my ultimate FAVORITE tools!  I NEVER could tie a decent bow until I got my Bow Easy!  Now it's a piece of cake!  You can also see my new MS border punch which I've accented with my new Viva Decor Pearl Pen.  If you haven't seen these yet....OMG...you will be in LOVE LOVE LOVE with them!  I know I love pearls on my cards....well this fun product allows you to custom make pearls any size/color you want!  Suzanne and Marti have some amazing video tutorial showcasing these super products!

Finally I have a shimmer view to share with you!  Here you can see the Illuminate Smooch which was added to Little Anki's hearts on her dress.  You can also see the Buttermilk Spica that I have used in her hair.

WOJ #74 - Sketch

Happy Wednesday....yay it's half way through the week!  Now to get through two exams the end of this week!  Icky!  I will be so glad when it's Friday at 4 pm....wish me luck!

WOW we had some GREAT recipe cards this past week at the WOJ Challenge!  Thanks to all of you who participated...let's see if we can get some more people this week!  This week Jane has a fantastic sketch for us, I know you will love it, because I sure do!!!

I had so much fun using Jane's sketch and will definitely add this to my list of sketches to use again! :)  I've used some bright and bold colors and really love the effect of them...dp is MME!  Sorry about the pics being washed out, I had to use my Ott Lite since it's so rainy and dreary here. :(  I'm missing the sun...hence the reason for the bright card! :)  The mini roses were white and then airbrushed to match the color combo.

Melinda with bouquet has been colored with Copics, & accented with a white gel pen.  I've added bright pink flower soft to her bouquet and love the textured look of it.  Melinda is pop'd up on a collage of Quickutz flowers with a Spellbinders boarder in the background.

I hope from this angle you can see the Angel Wings Shimmerz that has have added to Miss. Melinda's wings.  I love the shimmer and shine you get from the Shimmerz products.

TIOT - Color Challenge

 Hi Everyone~  I hope you are all having a nice Tuesday!  We are getting rain today and it says it's supposed to rain for most of the week!  Ick...but I guess we need it....it's super dry here!  Although I guess rain on school days isn't too terrible since I am stuck inside anyways!

If you aren't familiar with the SCACD Blog they have weekly challenges on Tuesdays!  Suzanne (our DT leader) gives us fun challenges each week to play with!  This week we have a fun color challenge!  The challenge is to use RED, YELLOW, VIOLET, and HOT PINK!  I have to tell you this was a hard challenge for me, as these aren't normal colors for me....I had the hardest time trying to find paper I wanted to use!  And that really shouldn't be a problem with all of the paper I have!  lol! 

I made this fun Easter Card and Easter Basket for my sister!  For colors that I normally wouldn't think to use together I think this turned out to be a very fun creation time!

For my card I have used the Victoria Case Little Aud for SCACD.  I just LOVE the Victoria Case Hearts and Hugs Spring Collection!  Of course this card turned into another easel card...hee hee!  I've used the sketch from over at Sketch Saturday on this card.

 Little Aud was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  Then I used my new Spellbinders Labels 10 that I got from my Mommy....thanks Mom!  You can find them -->HERE<-- this is my NEW favorite labels die...images fit WONDERFULLY inside this one!!!  Used a small MS butterfly punch and accented them with some white pearls.

Here's the bottom panel with my Easter Greetings!  Used those Labels 10 again along with Labels 4!

Hoppy Easter!

 Happy Easter Everyone~  I hope you all have a blessed day and get to spend time with your loved ones!  We are off to church this morning, then we will be going out to a lunch buffet with my in-laws and after that I am going to visit from Gram and Gramps!  Hubby has to work this afternoon/evening so that's a bummer...especially seeing how we missed Christmas with my family because he was working.

Yesterday I was busy making some Easter cards for my parents and for my in-laws....then of course had to make cute little candy baskets for my bro and sis....I will share those later this week.

After seeing Maria's amazing basket, I thought I had to go about trying to make an altered flower pot card...turning it into an easter basket instead.  I think these turned out awesome....thanks Maria for the inspiration!  The eggs are actually felt eggs that I found earlier this season at HL.

 This one is the basket card that I made for my in-laws.  I cut all the strips and inked them with walnut distress ink and drew a line with my chocolate marker....then wove all the strips together.  Cut a handle and then added extra decorations.

This is how the basket looks in two pieces.  I have used one of the new SU clear stamp sets.  Before I show you the close up of my parents basket card I have some  

EXCITING news to share with you.....

Susana from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design has asked me to be a Guest Designer for her for the next three months!  

I am sooooo excited and sooooo honored to be joining such a wonderful and talented team for the next few months!  Thanks again Susana!

Now, onto my parent's easter card.  This is my very first card that I am making for the SCACD DT and am so excited to share it with you!

This is what it looks like in two pieces!  I've made a fun flip open card on the inside and have used the Victoria Case Little Danni with Flutterby for SCACD. 

Here is a close up.  Of course this cutie was colored with my Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I tried a new coloring technique on her hair to give more texture.  What do you think?  I'd love some feedback.

And here is the inside of the little flip open card.  I'm super excited with how this one turned out and can not wait to give it to my parents today....I know my mom will love it!  And I have a few stamping goodies for my Mom and some Pezz candies for my Dad!

WOJ #73 - Recipe Challenge

Yes it's already Wednesday....WOW how this week is flying by....I'm sure it didn't help that I had an exam in my tax class yesterday....those exam days always seem to creep up and fly by....hope I did ok on this one....the last one didn't go very well.  Eeekkk!

But....on to more cheery matters!  WOW there were lots of great entries for Bev's Sketch challenge last week!  Thanks to all of those who played along with us!  Today over at the WOJ Challenge Blog we have a recipe challenge for you...a little bit of this and a dash of that....just kidding...what you need to use is 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 pattern papers....and of course a WOJ stamp!   

I've decided this week I was going to make a bridal shower card....for a special person's shower that I have coming up in a week and a half so I thought I would get it done a head of time (I know...for me that NEVER happens...I'm usually two steps behind instead of ahead!)  The sketch I've used is from Sketch Saturday and as you can see it's another easel card....Gosh I just LOVE these!

 Papers are from MM - the Sabrina Collection...I've had them laying around for a while now...I love how they are pink and black!  The wedding color is black then accented with pink...so I carried that through to my card.

I masked Willow with the rose swing and then colored with a few Copics, added Twinkling H2O (Heavenly White) to her veil.  I used Smooch Illuminate to the creases/shadows of her dress and then free-handed the decoration to the bottom of her dress with my Sakura clear pen.  I just love how the bright pink flower soft mixed with the shamrock and christmas green flower soft add such a fun detail!

The sentiment is from the WOJ Wedding Wishes and then I used my MS deep edge punch to get an extra large trellis.  Added my two heart buttons (which I almost forgot...ooopppss) and the shade of pink didn't match so I just grabbed my handy Copic RV25 to make them match!  Gotta LOVE Copics!
