Magnolia Lovers Challenge 2

I got time to squeek in a little bit of craft time this afternoon after my homework.  Gotta love homework on the first day of class right?!  My professors all seem nice so that is always a plus....hoping I am still saying that in May! LOL!  I took an HR Management class and it's all going to be hands on so that should be lots of fun....no lectures or exams....gotta love that, BUT our grade is based on presentations....Eeekkk....I'm staying positive that it will be fun though....and a new challenge!

The sketch I played with this afternoon is from Magnolia Stamp Lovers....which happens to be a challenge blog of my friend Cindy!  She owns StappingScrapping!  She has lots of goodies...and GREAT customer service.
I dug out my Tilda with Hearts....poor thing has never been ink'd up yet!  So I decided to play with her and show her some love.  I also decided that I wanted to use my sewing machine on this card.  The look I wanted was a soft look because my coloring tends to always have a heavy hand with darker shades then I sometimes am trying to achieve.  I was very pleased with this card and my coloring surprised me...I really liked the softer look.

Papers are from my K&Company Lovely Collection....which I accented with a soft blue cardstock and brighter green cardstock.  Used my Labels 4 and scalloped heart nesties....along with my fancy tags.

Miss. Tilda was colored with my Copics.  I used my Blossom Spica over the hearts for some shimmer.  To add more shimmer to Tilda I used my Twinkling H2Os in Blue Ice and Mustard Green in the shaded areas of her clothes.  I love the depth this added and of course all the bling and sparkles!  (Wish you could see all the shimmer to this card...it's awesome IRL!)

My flower collage is made using my retro flower punch and MS heart punch, along with some Wild Orchid roses and Star Dust Stickles for some more bling!

Sentiment is stamped with my new Verve Hearts Desire set....those cute little hearts are part of the same collection!  I went over the sentiment with my clear Spica to add shimmer to it!

I hope you have enjoyed this fun creation....I have another Tilda waiting to be colored on my desk!  Hoping I get time to play with her and share another fun card with you soon!

Blowing Kisses to You!

Today I had to clean my craft room because my desk was so messy I didn't have any room to create!  After I got it clean I messed it up again...hee hee!  I again wanted to make some non-traditional Valentine cards (trying not to use any red) and I succeeded in making 2 cards like this!  One I'm sharing tonight and the other will be on Tuesday!  Tomorrow is my normal day for posting my Embellish-Online project; however, I will be gone all day with hubby so I'm posting tonight! :)  I'm sure you don't mind!  Tuesday I head back to school....ICK....I was having so much fun being on break....but ONLY 1 1/2 more years and I will be DONE...I'm FINALLY seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!

So during my play time today, I decided to play along with the Whiff of Joy Challenge which was to use either of their 2 challenges....I went with the challenge of 3 design papers, 2 bling, and 1 flower!  WOJ challenge is also looking for DT members so this is also my try-out for their DT!  I would LOVE to be a member of their challenge blog because then my WOJ stamps would get more love and use!!! :)  I also used the Quixotic Challenge which was to ink up an old stamp!  Melinda blowing kisses was my VERY first WOJ stamp that I bought and she is still ranked toward the top of my favorites!

First I want to apologize for the pictures....I had to use the Ott Lite again.  I recently purchased Distress paints in Tattered Rose and Picket Fence so I tried out my hand at distressing my papers.  I like the shabby chic look this gives!  My hubby said the papers look dirty...what do men know! Gesh!  Lol!  Papers used are American Crafts Blue Skies collection which you can find --> HERE<-- at EIO!  Barb still has free shipping on orders over $50, just enter code 4SP9HD in the coupon box at checkout...and be sure to tell her I sent ya!

Here is a close-up of Miss. Melinda.  She was colored with my Copics and Spicas.   Diamond Stickles (bling 1) make her wings sparkle!  I gave her a shadow with small dots (you can see this to the left of her).  I idolize how Chris and Crissy both use this type of technique for shadowing/backgrounding so I wanted to give it a try.  Mine turned out nothing like theirs....but I am going to keep practicing...maybe in a million years I might be able to do it like the girls!

Here is my hand created flower with a prima bling center (bling 2).  I've seen many of my blogging friends use their MS punch on the edge of flowers which gives such a unique look.  Thanks for the inspiration girls!

For my heart I used my heart nestie and then used a small Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I really love the colors of this card...and I am sure you will see lots more Distress Crackle Paint on my blog in the near future! :)

I hope you have a great week!

Here's the letter that was found on my blog:

I also have a fun project to share with you too!  Here is a cute little bag and altered notebook that I have created with Be My Valentine - Cuppy and Be My Valentine - Carl digi sets!

The bag is a mini bag that I picked up Target in the dollar spot last year.  The mini notebook is from the dollar spot at Michaels which I covered and altered with Carl.

I saw people use felt with the spellbinders before and thought I would give it a go!  I have to say those Spellbinder dies ROCK...they cut through the felt like butter.  I used my sewing machine to sew around the hearts....and then hand stitched around the scallop.  Cuppy and mini cupcake where colored with my Copics and dp is K&Company Lovely.

Here's a close up of Cuppy and her Valentine!  I added star dust stickles to both of their tops!  Blossom Spica was added to the heart to make it shimmer.

And here is Mr. Carl!  He was also colored with Copics.  Hearts were punched with MS punch and then covered in crystal stickles.

Now I am VERY HAPPY to say that Jennifer Meyer...the owner of Stamps and Smiles....has given each DT member a Valentine Bunny to give away!

To win this cutie all you have to do is leave me a message answering the following question:
What was your favorite Valentine's Day and why?
Winner will be announced on the Stamps and Smiles Blog later.

**Edited to Add - The winner of Valentine Bunny is Lisa of Lisa's Paper Fun!**

I hope you've enjoyed your stop here.....Your next stop is Lisa Cook'sHave fun on the rest of the hop!  Good Luck with the prize!

WOJ Guest Designer Call Entry

Hello Friends~ I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  This is my 2nd post today...so scroll down to see the Stamps and Smiles sneak peek for today!

I have my Guest Designer Entry for over at Whiff of Joy!  These are my ultimate favorite stamps of all time.  I think I pretty much own every stamp....now to find more time to play with them all!  :)

Once again I have made another easel card.  I really love the elegance to these cards!  And I had to use my FAVORITE color combo of pink and brown!  I have used the cutie pie Willow with Gingerbread Heart.

In order to enter you have to create a card with the sketch that Katharina has provided.  What a lovely sketch it was and so much fun to create with!  I've used my new Bo Bunny Gift of Love papers! LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection...pink, brown, swirls, and flowers....what more can a girl ask for?!  To get my flowers to match my coloring and papers perfect I took out some white flowers and airbrushed them to get an exact match.  Then used my cotton candy shimmerz and star dust stickles to sparkle them up!

Willow was colored with my Copics.  Then cut out with my labels 1 nesties.  I kept the nestie around my image and then airbrushed with R20....and hand drew some doodles around the edge with my Copic multiliner.  Star Dust Stickles was added to Willow headband, and Diamond Stickles was added to her apron stars and edge.

For the bottom panel I have used some raffia and wove in pink and brown lace.  Then used my MS punches and added some pearls for a fine finishing touch.  I hope you have enjoyed my creation!  Don't forget to come back later tonight for the Stamps and Smiles Blog Hop!

The last set to be previewed is called Love Birds. This NEW Digi has 9 images and 7 sentiments. Stop by the Stamps and Smiles store for a FREE Digi now - January 24th.

Now for my sample!  These cutie birdies are so adorable!!!!  When I saw them I knew I had to make them bluebirds!!!  I saw a card in blogland that was my total inspiration for this card...I wish I saved the link to give credit!

I used my Pink Paislee Cupid Collection papers again (which you can get over at EIO)!  I wanted to make a non-traditional Valentine's card and I think this definitely turned out non-traditional! :)   My scalloped circle nesties were used to create the circle background for the birdies.  I think they make it look like the birdies are in a tree.

The birdies were colored with my Copics....I tried to add texture to make it look like real feathers!  How do you think it turned out? Surprisingly this card came together pretty fast!

Collect the flowers on the DT blogs and then email us your answer.  Carl found 5 flowers on my stop along the way:

AND here is the third digi set being sampled!  It's called Be My Valentine - Carl. It has 3 images and 6 sentiments.

As soon as I saw Carl I knew I wanted to make an action card.....better known as a shaker card, but I wanted a shaped card too!  Soooooo....I got out my heart nesties and went to town!

I used Carl for this set.  It was a challenge to shrink him down small enough to fit into my SU treat cup.

Here you can see the treat cup better, although my MS heart confetti decided that it was going to cling to the cup.  Darn it!  I still think it's a cute card though.

This view is a little bit better so you can see Carl the Cutie!  Of course he was colored with my Copics.

For the inside I used the same MS heart punch that was on my card yesterday.  I used another of my conversation sweethearts from the Be My Valentine - Cuppy Digi Set, which was colored with my Copics.  Then I punched 2 small hearts with my Marvy punch.  A simple but cute inside...IMO.

Don't forget to see what the other girls have created!  Their links are in my sidebar!

Valentine Release Day 2

Make sure you head on over to the other DT girls blogs to continue collecting the chocolates!!!  You can find their links in my sidebar! :)

Now onto my sample featuring the Life is like a box of Chocolates!   I've used the sketch over at Sketch Saturday for my card and also have used the challenge over at Spoonful of Sugar which is to use lots of layers...every panel has 3 layers!  I've used Photoshop and merged the chocolates from the set with the heart box.

The mini hearts around the flower are from yesterday's digi set (Be My Valentine-Cuppy).  The small hearts on candy box are punched out from the MS border.  K&Company Lovely papers were used.

The chocolates and candy box were colored with my Copics.  I've used my Lipstick, Blossom, Chocolate and Clear Spicas on the icing on the choclates.

Here is the inside (left side) of the card.  I've used a new MS punch!  I love these hearts!!!  They are so elegant.

And here is the right side of the inside.  I've used the two individual chocolates to decorate this page along with the same MS border punch that was used on the front of the card.

Cuppy was colored with my Copics!  The panel they are pop'd up on is kraft cardstock that has been cut out with my heart nesties, then stamped with an Inkadinkado background stamp with Versamark Dazzle - Champagne, and finally ran through my Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots folder.   I've used chocolate chip cardstock for the scalloped heart.  If you want to get the heart and scalloped heart nesties you best buy them now as I hear Spellbinders has discontinued them!!!  My friend Cindy still has a few in stock at her store...click the links above to go and get yours and make sure you tell Cindy I sent you! :)  Highlights were added to my images with my white gel pen.
