WOC #11 - Victorian/Old Fashion Christmas

Hello~  I hope all my U.S. Friends had a lovely Thanksgiving...I know we sure did at my house....well besides hubby being extremely busy with work.  I got to spend the day with my Grandparents and the night with my other Grandparents so that was a wonderful day!  As I said the other day my Mom and I had our last craft show of the season on Saturday and it went very well...especially for our first time at this show.

I'm sending a special thank you to all of you who answered my computer question last week!  I have purchased a Clickfree and it should be here soon!  I can't wait to get it!!! :)

Now onto crafty stuff.....it's Monday...and you know what that means.....it's Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge day!  Yippy!  This week our challenge for you is to create a Victorian or Old Fashion Christmas creation.
I've tried to add a Victorian twist to my card...but I think it came out more Old Fashioned so I guess that works!  LOL!  When I sat down to create my card I immediately knew I wanted to use one of my SCACD Carmen Medlin stamps...I absolutely love the "realness" in thse images and Winter Walk is the one that I thought would be perfect for this card.  Papers are from Bo Bunny Noel Collection.  I love the vintage feel that the big snowflake gives....this actually was a floral pick that I got at JoAnn's the other day.   Pearls in the upper right hand corner were made with my Viva Decor Gold Pearl Pen (these lovelies are on sale at SCACD right now...great time to stock up!)
Winter Walk was colored with Copics.  I've used my SB Labels 14 to cut her out....and while the image was still in the nestie I took my Ranger Inkssentials blending tool and Brilliance Gold ink and blended the gold around the image.  Love the antiqueness this adds to the image.  Plus the ink gives a lovely subtle shimmer.
Flowers are from the fabulous Wild Orchid Crafts!  I've used 40mm Hybrid Tea Rose, 20mm roses, 15mm roses, red stamens, and 8mm semi-open roses.  All flowers have been shimmered with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and then sparkalized with Gold Stickles.

Now make sure you head over to the WOC Challenge Blog to see the fabulous creations the other girls have created!

WOJ #92 - Tara's Sketch

Happy Wednesday....well we are half way through the week and that means the weekend is getting closer!  Woo-Hoo!  I am excited for this weekend....as my "adopted brother" (who is my brother's best freind) recently bought a house so we are going to celebrate at his housewarming party!  And then I am planning on crafting the rest of the weekend away getting ready for another craft show that I will have a booth in the Saturday after Thanksgiving!  Which reminds me I still have to share pictures of my booth with you all! :)

Today is another WOJ Challenge Wednesday!  Yay this week we have a WONDERFUL sketch by my amazing freind Tara for you to play along with!  Love the sketch T, it's so much fun to work with!!!  We do have some sad news to share with you from the WOJ Challenge DT....This week is my good buddy Tara's last challenge with us as she has decided to step down from DT.  I'm going to miss you SOOOO MUCH Tara...and wish you all the best hun!  With Tara's decision to step down from the DT we have decided to hold a DT Call this challenge.....Please check the WOJ Challenge page for all the details.
For my card this week I've decided to use a cutie from last years Winter Stamp Set.  Isn't she a doll?!  I absolutely love her and her innocence!  Papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather collection, I love how this pad has bold colors as well as subtle soft colors too!  Lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts and is the Guipure Lace....absolutely LOVE this one, again it adds to the elegance of the card.  I've taken my narrow purple MS ribbon and wove it into the lace, and then used my Bow Easy to create the bow! :)  For the background edging I've used my new MS ATP holly punch!  Love this punch!
My image was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I've used my SB Labels 14 to cut her out and then edged the label with Star Dust Stickles.
Flower arrangement consists mainly of WOC flowers.  Hydrangeas are Prima....BUT Wild Orchid Crafts is now carrying Hydrangea flowers in an assortment of colors...you can find there -->here<--!  YAY!!!  Finishing off the arrangement is 15mm roses, Padded Snowflakes, and 15mm Rose Leaves
Now make sure you head to the WOJ Challenge to see Tara's amazing sketch and to play along with us!

MAMM #5 - Ornaments

Happy Monday to you all!  Wow what a weekend I had.  On Saturday and Sunday my mom and I were are craft shows.  We had a booth and were selling our crafts...this year we had an amazing display board for all of our cards that my amazing hubby made for us!  I took pictures, and will share them with you this week! :) We had a successful weekend and are looking very forward to the De Pere High School craft fair the end of this month!

Today is Make a Mess Monday (MAMM) over at SCACD!  Oh how I LOVE  making my messes!  Our challenge this month was to Decorate Ornaments using my ultimate FAVORITE product Viva Decor Precious Metals!  Seriously if you haven't ordered any Precious Metals from Susana you REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED to get some!  These are the most amazing metallic paints that I have ever worked with!  I still am amazed every time that I use them that they only take ONE COAT to cover your surface!  My hubby was even surprised at how awesome they are!

Here I took a wooden snowflake ornament and covered it with Viva Decor Blue Azure Precious Metals paint.  This is my ultimate favorite color, as the blue is so beautiful but it also have a gorgeous silver tint to it.  When you paint with this color on wood the silver in the color defines the wood grains.  I absolutely love this one!

Then to accent the snowflake's edges I took my Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Hologram and outlined the whole snowflake...love the extra glitter and sparkles!  What I really love about the Viva Glitter Liners is that they hold their shape when you use them....meaning that when I made the edging around the snowflake it creates a "ridge" adding dimension.  Love it!  Then I took my Viva Decor Light Blue Pearl Pen and added some custom sized pearls that were a perfect fit for my snowflake!

My second ornament today is again taking a wooden ornament and this time painting it with Viva Decor Blackberry Precious Metals.  Like the Blue Azur the Blackberry also has that gorgeous tint of silver in it!  This is another of my favorite colors from these paints!

How about these flowers?  These are the NEW Petaloo Velvet Hydrangeas!  Oh my word are they absolutely gorgeous and add the perfect amount of elegance to this ornament.  The flower arrangement is then finished using some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers consisting of 4mm closed rosebuds, mulberry GypsophilaRose leaves, and pearl sprays.  To accent the ornament my Viva Decor Rose Paper Pen was used to again add some custom sized pearls.

I hope you have enjoyed.  Make sure you head over to the SCACD Blog to check out what the other Messy Girls have made! :)

**SHOPPING NEWS**Susana has some fabulous new goodies in at SCACD! Have you seen the new Basic Grey Curio and Marjolaine Collections?!  Oh my goodness I love them both!  Then you have to check out the My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy collections, Tickled Pink and True Blue, both are so adorable!  The Petaloo Red Velvet Pointsettia Flowers are back in stock along with some super cute Gingerbread People and beautiful assortment of leaves!  Looking for a unique Christmas card grab some Dreamweaver Embossing Paste and this NEW Dreamweaver Ornament Stencil to create some breath taking cards!  Finally make sure to check out the NEW fun colors of Sparkly Fluff...gotta love sparkles!  Happy Shopping!

WOJ #91 - Christmas Card

Good Morning~ Sorry my post is going up a little late!  I had a terrible migraine yesterday.  Today is Whiff of Joy Challenge day and our challenge for you is to make a Christmas card.  I decided to make a Christmas notepad holder.
I've used Wee and Christmas Tree.  Papers are from K&Company.
Wee has been colored colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  Gemstones were added to the Christmas tree to represent the ornaments and Lemon Spica was used on the star for the glittery effect.
Here is the inside of the notepad holder that has been decorated as well.  Sorry this is so short...I'm on my way out the door for school! Only one more day of classes this week....but then I have to get ready for two craft shows that I have a booth in on this Saturday and Sunday!
