Mother's Day Gift and WIN SOME PIF BLOG CANDY!!!!!

Hello Everyone! Sorry I have been gone for a week....last week was a crazy one! 2 major exams at the end of the week....and this week is FINALS...EEEKKKK...wish me luck....however yesterday was an AWESOME Monday! I found out I got A's on both of my exams from friday....then I also found out that I won some PIF Blog Candy on my friend Theresa's blog (stop by and say hi to her at http://lil-bittacreativity.blogspot.com/) I was SOOOO excited to find out that I won....so since it is a PIF now it's my turn to give away some blog candy (I haven't decided what I am going to give away yet....but I will tell you it is going to be a WONDERFUL surprise!)

To win here is what you have to do:
Seeing how I recently took this old toolbox out of my hubby's garage, sanded and re-painted it....I now want to decorate it (my future craft room colors will be pink/brown/white)!

I want to hear about all of your great ideas! So tell me how/what I should do to decorate (and where I can buy the items needed for your idea)! I will take comments through May 20th! I will be choosing a winner on Wednesday May 21st! I look forward to hearing all of your ideas!

Below is a gift card holder that I made for my mom for mother's day! Then I inserted a gift certificate for the place where she goes to get her massages! She loved it....and I loved how the holder turned out!

cute card holder!

it depends on what your decor style is, but i'm definitely a fan of the antique looking style. you might take a rag and some cream colored paint and just dab all over the drawers so it looks a little distressed, and then take a little darker shade like a sandy brown and paint or stencil the flat surfaces (the border areas). then you could add some colors with stencil if you wanted. i was thinking like this: http://www.occasionaltwist.com/images/bedtbl1w.jpg

good luck! i'd love to hear your comments on my blogs :)

I would go with pink flowers all over it randomly. maybe some brown dots or lines around here and there.

I would stamp some bella images straight on there and color them up along with some various hearts and flowers in the color scheme of your scrapping room.

I think I would distress it a bit then get out some rub-ons and maybe a few large Heidi Swapp flowers and of course some bling! It think taking your scrapping supplies that you already have and using them in a new way would be really cool!

I would stamp some soft pink and brown swirls on there....not too many. Keep it simple would be my free advice. Very cute

Kim- You have endless possiblities! Do you have a cricut? You can use that to design the your stencil and tape it down with painters tape to paint your designs. I'd use acrylic paint (cheap at the paint store and has a MILLION beautiful colors!) I'd line (or paint) the drawers too to give that extra special touch! Good luck and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I was thinking painting as well but I would suggest paint it brown, and embellish with pink and white. Maybe you could cut out what is going to be in the drawers and embellish with cut flowers and stickels and skittles and stamps and ribbon and I could go on and on but you get the idea. Have fun with it. Make it your tool box! I can't wait to see the finishe product.

Modge Podge is my best friend so I would definitely incorporate that into whatever you decide to do. Basic Grey just sent out a newsletter where the design team covered rocking chair with the Sultry line & it looked amazing! You could find a paper that you love & then attach it to the box with modge podge...Or, you could take your favorite photos & affix them onto the box in the same way =)
Love your mom's card holder too!
Thanks for sharing =)

I love the toolbox, and everyone has already mentioned great ideas. I think I would go overboarad and do them ALL! Good luck on your finals, too.

If it were me I'd either stamp or cover it with some gorgeous paper that matches your room. That is a cute piece! Oh...and you might want to check out my blog... ;)

What a great toolbox for your goodies! What about painting brown polka dots all over. You could even modge podge patterned paper on the drawer fronts and line the drawers with it too. So many options - hope you post a pick of the finished altering!

Okay, here's what I would do. I would either leave the box white or you could paint it brown. Then get some great either pink and brown or just pink pattern papers and modge podge them over the paint. You want to leave about 1/4" border of the paint around the edges though or what was the point of painting it in the first place :) I like stripes, argile (sp?), polka dots, or a floral print for the papers. Then you could hot glue some big silk flowers over the two knobs and that would be cute or you could change them out to a clear acrylic knob that you could get at Home Depot or Lowe's. You can add rub-ons to tell you what you are storing the the drawers and then finish it up by putting some stamped Bella Images on there. Actually, you could use the Bella decals and then it would go with your rub-ons as long as you use black :)
