WOJ #73 - Recipe Challenge

Yes it's already Wednesday....WOW how this week is flying by....I'm sure it didn't help that I had an exam in my tax class yesterday....those exam days always seem to creep up and fly by....hope I did ok on this one....the last one didn't go very well.  Eeekkk!

But....on to more cheery matters!  WOW there were lots of great entries for Bev's Sketch challenge last week!  Thanks to all of those who played along with us!  Today over at the WOJ Challenge Blog we have a recipe challenge for you...a little bit of this and a dash of that....just kidding...what you need to use is 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 pattern papers....and of course a WOJ stamp!
I've decided this week I was going to make a bridal shower card....for a special person's shower that I have coming up in a week and a half so I thought I would get it done a head of time (I know...for me that NEVER happens...I'm usually two steps behind instead of ahead!)  The sketch I've used is from Sketch Saturday and as you can see it's another easel card....Gosh I just LOVE these!

Papers are from MM - the Sabrina Collection...I've had them laying around for a while now...I love how they are pink and black!  The wedding color is black then accented with pink...so I carried that through to my card.
I masked Willow with the rose swing and then colored with a few Copics, added Twinkling H2O (Heavenly White) to her veil.  I used Smooch Illuminate to the creases/shadows of her dress and then free-handed the decoration to the bottom of her dress with my Sakura clear pen.  I just love how the bright pink flower soft mixed with the shamrock and christmas green flower soft add such a fun detail!
The sentiment is from the WOJ Wedding Wishes and then I used my MS deep edge punch to get an extra large trellis.  Added my two heart buttons (which I almost forgot...ooopppss) and the shade of pink didn't match so I just grabbed my handy Copic RV25 to make them match!  Gotta LOVE Copics!
Here is the side view so you can see the dimension. I hope you have enjoyed your stay here...make sure to head over to the WOJ Challenge blog so you can see what the other girls have cooked up!

I am also entering this card into the Copic Creations Year Blogaversary Challenge!  One of my favorite tutorials of theirs has been hair color!  I love learning new coloring techniques...thanks ladies for all the inspirations and tips!  Wishing you many more wonderful years at your challenge blog!

And I would like to wish my Gram a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Sending lots of hugs and kisses to you on this special day! XOXO  I do have my Gram's card done....but she's one of my avid readers so I can't share it with you until after this weekend when I get to hand deliver it to her!  Love you Gram!!!!

Saying Goodbye!

Hello~
I'm sad to say that this is my last post for Embellish.  Barb has decided that she is going to sell the store so that she will have more time for her personal goals & loved ones.  I am very sad to see it go, as I have loved working for Barb & loved all of the girls on the DT!  This has been an amazing adventure; however, they say one door closed always leads to another door open right?!  If you are interested in owning your own online store, you can contact Barb, she would love to speak with you about the options.  I wish Barb & all the other DT girls the best of luck in all their future endeavors.

Here is the last creation that I made for Embellish.
This card features one of the new Sarah Kay stamps, Zoe gazing at butterfly.  Papers are from the Pink Pasilee Cupid Collection.  Ribbon is American Crafts that has been folded over and then stitched with my Sew Mini.  Large roses are Zva and mini roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Zoe was colored with with Copics, and the shading was again another try at Crissy and Chris' style.  Spring flower soft was used on the flower basket.  I love the new Spellbinders Labels 11....I have added star dust stickles around the white layer for some extra sparkle.
Various MS butterfly punches were used on this card too.  The larger ones were first embossed with my cuttlebug folder and then punched and sponged with Memento Angel Pink ink and edged in star dust stickles.

I hope you have enjoyed this creation....I absolutely LOVE reading all of your wonderful comments they totally make my day!  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend...I'm off to help hubby do some landscaping and then it's crafty time!

Recipe:
Stamps:  Zoe Gazing at Butterfly (Sarah Kay)

Vegas Trip

 Hello Everyone~

Since I had a little bit of time I thought I would upload some of my pics from my Vegas trip a couple weeks ago and share them with you!  Hubby and I had a blast...it was so much fun getting away just the two of us!
Here we are eating at Margaritaville....over looking Caesar's Palace!

We stayed at the Monte Carlo...I thought it was a nice hotel, we got a room on the 28th floor so it was a nice view of the strip.
Our pool area at our hotel.  We had a pool, hot tub, and a lazy river!  The lazy river was heated so we spent a day lounging poolside which was nice.
For St. Patrick's Day we went out to dinner at the Stratosphere....this is a hotel with a revolving restaurant on top; I believe it's the tallest building in Vegas.  The Top of the World Restaurant is on the 106th floor!  YIKES...was a tad scary for this girl who is afraid of heights!  After about 15 mins I think I settled down a bit so that I could enjoy our meal!  This picture is overlooking "Old Vegas" otherwise known as Fremont Street!  I loved our trip that night to Fremont St!
This is a view of the main strip from our restaurant again.  I so love all of the lights!!!!
Here are me and my lucky lepruchans that I had to get my picture with....what a FUN way to celebrate St. Patty's Day, don't you think?!

I will have a new card to share with you tomorrow! :)

WOJ #72 - Sketch Challenge

It's WOJ Challenge Wednesday....YAY!  WOW you all made some gorgeous easel cards!  This week Bev has a fantastic sketch for you to try....remember you MUST use a WOJ image in order in be in the chance to win the prize!
I have used another cutie from the WOJ Store Kit....and have stepped outside the box and used some colors I normally don't use much.  At first when I had my markers picked to match my paper I thought this cute girl was going to look like a pumpkin (orange and green)....but I think she turned out pretty adorable.  Papers are the American Crafts Dear Lizzie collection.
Of course I used my Copics to color and then used the new Smooch Illuminate on the orange parts for a soft shimmer.  The background has been created with a $1 stamp I picked up the other day at Micheal's and stamped with Ranger pearl acrylic paint.  Added some spring flower soft to her flower pot.  Oh how I wish I could grow plants/flowers....I do NOT have a green thumb at all....so I just admire everyone else's! :)
I added a mixture of MS butterfly punches to decorate around the card.  The bigger butterflies were layered and I painted the top layer with Smooch Illuminate which you can see in this picture and the bottom butterfly was edged in Diamond Stickles.

I can't wait to see what you all create with Bev's amazing sketch!

Recipe:
Stamps: WOJ Store Stamp Kit #1, flower/strawberry ($1 bin at Michaels)

WOJ #71 - Easel Card

**This is pre-scheduled, so I hope this posts on the correct day!  Hubby and I are having a blast in Vegas....I can't wait to get home and show you some pictures! **

Welcome to another challenge over at the WOJ Challenge Blog!  WOW there were lots of amazing enteries this past week, I can't wait to see who wins the amazing Birdie Stamp Set! :)

Seeing how the rage in the craft world lately is easel cards, that is our challenge for you this week...create an easel card, and remember to use a WOJ stamp! :)  I absolutely LOVE easel cards...I love how you can display them easily but how much fun they add to a regular card!
Seeing how the weather is finally starting to get warmer in here in Wisconsin I thought I would make a spring card to share with you!  As you can see the bottom panel is still blank; I left it that way so I can add the correct sentiment when I go to give it! :)
I've used Dreamy Willow with Flowers; she is from last year's summer kit....and I am sad to say this is the first time I inked her up....poor thing!  Now she is getting some lovin' though! :)  Willow was masked and I used the Fall Grass stamp to create my background.  Papers are K&Company McKenna papers and I am LOVING this paper pack....I've had it for a while now and have just decided to pull it out and use the papers....I know Bev loves this set too and I definitely can see why!
Willow was colored with Copics and Spicas.  I've used Spring Flower Soft in Willow's bouquet and on some of the flowers on the ground.
My flower collection consists of Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, Prima Hydrangea, and some other flowers and jewels that I picked up at HL.  I have added LOTS of stickles to make them all sparkle!
And one more view so you can see all the dimension.  I hope you have enjoyed this cutie as much as I enjoyed making her! :)

I can't wait to see all of your amazing creations when I get back from vacation!

Vegas Bound!

Hi Friends~

I should be checking in at the airport getting ready to fly to Vegas as you are reading this!  I am SUPER excited for this fun trip....what a GREAT spring break this will be!  As I was packing I was thinking I really need something on my suitcase that:

1. Helps me locate my bag coming off of the rack in the baggage area (something BRIGHT); and
2. Something that is cute and represents Me!

I think I got both of those requirements in tack with my cute luggage tag!
I found some self adhesive tags at Shopko a few weeks ago and thought these would be perfect for spying luggage in the baggage area!  Of course I used my favorite color *PINK* and seeing how I love Elisabeth Bell images I found two cuties in my stash and started to color!  This side uses a WOJ image....Willow with Flower Basket.  Surprisingly these tags were very easy to use and actually went together VERY fast too!
Side 2 features one of my Elisabeth Bell stamps that you can ONLY get at my great friend, Susana's StoreRian is so cute with her cuddly puppy!  Both images were colored with Copics and Spicas, and then accented with a white gel pen!

I made hubby a tag too....but his just consists of a picture of his 4 wheeler....how NOT fun!  lol!  He didn't want anything girlie!  After I showed him my "cool" tag he said "Gee I'm not sure you should put that on the suitcase because it's so cool our luggage will probably get stolen now!"  I couldn't help but laugh at him!

See you when I get back!

WOJ #69 & Great News!

Sorry this is last posting...Mr. Blogger decided to be sassy today!  I had this scheduled to post early this AM...not sure what Mr. Blogger had decided instead!

Last week was my last week Guest Designing over at the WOJ Challenge blog, however, Donalda has asked me to stay on as a permanent member of the team and of course I didn't even have to think twice...I said YES YES YES!!! I am so lucky and extremely honored to be a part of such an amazing DT with such talented girls!
This week's challenge we have a color challenge for you...it's:
COFFEE & CREAM

When I found out this was our challenge I knew immediately that I wanted to try Fran's wonderful sepia tutorial.  I got my Copics and set off for the challenge to try my hand at sepia.  I am very pleased with how the coloring turned out.  I then kept the monochromatic look going with the whole card.   It's hard to believe that this is the very first monochromatic card that I have ever made.

The sketch is from over at Sketch Saturday.  I've used SU papers from the Thoroughly Modern Collection.  It took me forever to find shades to match my already colored Willow.  The papers I initially wanted to use weren't jiving well with my image...don't you hate when that happens....I guess that is why I usually pick out my paper before I color....lol!  Sentiment is from the Verve Fairy Tales set.  I adore this wonderful sentiment collection.

Willow of course was colored with Copics.  Then I took my white gel pen and did some highlighting.  Added some Sand Spica to the swirls of the dress.  Used Moonlight Smooch on Willow's necklace, and added the new Illuminate Smooch to her ring.

The flowers were made with tulle.  I used Bev's amazing tutorial, which you can find -->here<--.  I've always been in awe over the flowers she makes...thanks so much hun for sharing your talent.  I love how the tulle looks for flowers!!!

I can't WAIT to see what you create with this week's challenge!  And a hint....be on the look out for some blog candy....I am going to put something together to celebrate my GREAT news of being on the WOJ Challenge Team!

EDITED:
This is straight from the WOJ Challenges Blog and I wanted to share it with you......
We are also going to start choosing 3 top cards every week and those 3 people will be able to get our Top 3 Blinkie to put on there blog!!! The lovely Martine made us this gorgeous blinkie that you see on our side bar. Thanks dear so much. So come on folks lets see tons of entry's this week. We have blinkies and a great prize to win, so what are you waiting on???

Recipe:
StampsPregnant Willow, Rose Swing (WOJ), Sentiment from Fairy tales Collection (Verve)
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa, Copics, Copic Spicas, White gel pen,
Copic Colors Used: E00, E02, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, E47, E49, Spica - Sand
