WOJ #82 - My Sketch!

Hi Friends~

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts regarding my recent internet issues!  After almost 11 hours the other day, my internet service provider finally got my email figured out...and it was their fault...surprise surprise....not!  I want to thank my very dear friend, Susana and her awesome hubby for ALL their help...I couldn't have gotten this resolved with out you two...you are the bestest....THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Mwah!

Today I am super excited to tell you that we have a sketch challenge over at the WOJ Challenge Blog for you....and guess what....the sketch was made by me....so please be kind as this is my first sketch with WOJ, it surely doesn't compare to Bev's beauties, but I had fun making it!  I hope that you have fun playing along with my sketch!  I can't wait to see how everyone interprets it....I think that is going to be the best part for me!!!
I've decided to use Cool Oakley and Willow Dressing Up which are from the first City Collection, seeing how I am *patiently* but excitedly (hee hee) waiting for my City Collection II stamps to arrive I thought I would use these cuties from the first set! I've once again gotten inspiration from my Mom!  She paired these two stamps together in an anniversary card for me and my hubby, you can see her card -->here<--
Here is my sketch, I really hope you have fun playing along with our challenge!

The papers I've used are from the Basic Grey Cappella Collection.  Oh my word do I love these beautiful papers in here....I had to cringe when I cut into them!
The bottom panel has been created using a MS border punch and my ovals and scallop oval nesties with a SU sentiment.
The image has been popped up on the Renassiance Heart Pendant die cut.  Of course these cuties were colored with copics.  I've used my gold spica on Willow's left bracelet and sash of her dress.  My Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Cream was used to create the pearls on her bracelet on the right.
All flowers (but one) are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The first rose collection I am sharing with you is what I call the pink collection on this card....I used pink flowers on one side of the card and blue flowers on the other to incorporate the girl and boy! :)  For the pink collection I've used a NEW Champagne Pink Classic Sweet Rose, 15mm roses, and 4mm closed rosebuds.  These have all been sparkled up with star dust stickles.  Behind the flowers are some lace...of course I didn't have a cream color lace I wanted...and then I had an AH HA Moment and remembered I have Glimmer Mist!  So I took my Bronze Glimmer Mist and tinted the lace to look more vintage!
Finally is the Blue flower collection!  I've used Cream Cherry Blossoms (which have been spritzed with the same Glimmer Mist as the lace), 10mm roses, Gypsophlia flower, and clear Crystal Heart steams.  All these flowers too have been sparklized with star dust stickles.

Now go and create a fun card with my sketch!  I can't wait to see what you all make....remember to use a WOJ stamp to be in the running for the chance to win the lovely stamp that is sponsored this week!  The WOJ Challenge blog is also having a DT call so if you would like to be on our amazing team make sure that you put "DT" behind your name in Mr. linky with your entry this week!

"Happy Days Are Here Again" Blog Hop

Welcome to the
Happy Days are Here Again Release
Sampler Edition # 5
by Elisabeth Bell
for SCACD

Happy Friday Everyone.....I hope you are enjoying your time on our Blog Hop!  If you are here from Judy's Blog then you are in the right spot!  If not, please head over to Suzanne's Blog so that you can start the hop from the beginning....trust me you don't wanna miss a stop on this hop!  We, at SCACD, are VERY excited to have the wonderful DT of Quixotic Paperie, AND the amazing Susanna Boyd of Papercraft Planet joining us today!  Now let's continue on the hop......here's my project....
I have the pleasure of showcasing the fabulous Carousel Dreams from this brand new Sampler Edition #5 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD!  The moment I saw this horsey I immediately thought of riding on the Merry-Go-Round....I still love riding that ride!  Then the hunt was on to try and find a template to make the vision in my head become a reality....I did find one template but it was vague and I really didn't want to pay over $10 for it as it wasn't exactly what I wanted....so I set out to design my own....let me tell you it defintiely was an adventure.....but after the mess I made in my studio I was VERY pleased with the outcome!
Here is a close up of the Merry-Go-Round!  I stamped the Carousel Dreams three times and colored them all different....just as the horseys are different on each Merry-Go-Round!  I stagered the heights of the horseys to make them apear as if they were going up and down as the ride goes around and around and around.
From this angel I am hoping you can see the glitter liner on the roof and then the glitter dots on both scalloped circles.  The liner and dots were both made using my Viva Decor Glitter Liner (Holo).
Of course the top part comes off of the bottom so that you can put some fun treats inside!  Below are a close up of all of the ponies on the Merry-Go-Round.  All the hoseys were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copics:
The Pink Horsey!  Copic Colors used: R81, R83, R85, R89, E25, E27, E29, E53, G24, and G21.  I used a "Dot Technique" to colors all the horseys!
The Dark Brown Horsey!  Copic Colors used: R81, RV19, RV34, E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, G24, BG11, BG15, and BG49.
The Light Brown Horsey!  Copic Colors used: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, E47, E49, BG11, BG15, BG49, G29, G21, and R21.  Which pony is your favorite?
After making the Merry-Go-Round I wanted to make a card that matched the theme....so I made a movable Merry-Go-Round card.  I was inspired after my mom made -->this<-- card a while back.  I've used Kaisercraft Gypsy Sister papers....I absolutely love the range of bold colors in this pack!!!   Viva Decor Glitter Liner (Holo) was again used on this card around the sentiment on the scalloped oval.  All flowers (from Wild Orchid Crafts) started out white....I airbrushed them with my Copic ABS to match the colors of the card!
Here you can see how the pony slides up and down on the Merry-Go-Round!  This was achieved by using two pennies with a foam pad in the middle.
Finally from this angle you can see the gloss and glimmer.  The horsey's saddle was covered in diamond glaze to get the shiney effect.  The flowers were colored with a Pink Spica for some soft shimmer, and then Star Dust Stickles was added to the bridle.  Platinum Stickles was finally added to the horse shoes.

This birthday gift set is available at my Shophandmade Store (which is similar to Etsy), click -->here<-- to go and have a look.

If you've stuck with me through this long post, I thank you very much!  I had so much fun creating with the Carousel Dreams stamp!  I hope I have inspired you to go and purchase your very own stamp like this to make fun projects too!  The set is available TODAY.....and remember Susana does offer an amazing discount if you purchase the whole stamp set together!

Thanks for hopping along our Blog Hop!  I hope you having enjoyed your time with the SCACD DT and our special friends!  Now click -->HERE<-- to head over to the store!  Happy Shopping!

TIOT #73 - Weave It!

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are gearing up for LOTS of fun on Friday....the release of the NEWEST Elisabeth Bell Collection for SCACD will be released!!!  YAY!!!

BLOG HOP ALERT:
You don't want to miss the blog hop this Friday....it's going to be loads of fun and we have the talented DT of Quixotic Paperie, AND the wonderful Susanna Boyd of Papercraft Planet joining us in the Hop....it's going to be AMAZING!

BLOG CANDY ALERT:
Today's the last day to sign up for your chance to win 1 of 4 sets of the NEW Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5!  Click -->here<-- to go for all the details!!!

Now onto TIOT!  This week Suzanne has challenged us to WEAVE....now you can weave anything....ribbon, paper, weave embossing, weave string....etc!
For my weaving I've decided to use one of my Spellbinder frame dies and weave in some ribbon like I did with this card in the past.  I love the look the ribbon gives to this fun paper frame....makes it so elegant....and of course the added bow on the bottom corner was made with my Bow Easy!  I've used Safe Travels from the Hearts and Hugs Summer Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD!  The color combo is very different for me...but I love the effect that I got with it!  Papers are from the Basic Grey Porcelein Collection.
I'm sure you've already guessed that this beauty was colored with my Copics!  I got the "ground look" using W0, W1, W3, and W5!  The pearls on the butterflies were created with my Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen.
The flower arrangement was made with 2-Tone Wild Rose, 20mm Roses, Aster Daisies, and Red Crystal Drops from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The 20 mm roses were yellow and I tinted them with my Copic ABS to have them match the bigger rose.  The aster daisies were white and they too were also airbrushed.
Finally here is the fun sentiment that has been made with my MS tag punch and SU Tiny Tags.  I wanted this card to be either to a friend who is traveling or going to be traveling soon; or it could be from a friend who is traveling to a friend back home.

Now it's your turn to make a "Weave Project!"  We'd love for you to play along with our weekly challenge.  Click -->here<-- to link your creation to our challenge!  Make sure you also head over to the SCACD Blog to check out the other girls DT projects! :)

VIVA - NOT Just for Paper!

Alright...I have a quick post for you today....because I have to get my research paper done for my computer science class...it's not due until Monday...but I want it DONE so I am free for the weekend...then I can stay in my craft room all weekend!  hee hee!

The other night my parents, my sister, and my hubby and I went out to eat for my Dad's birthday!  When we were leaving the resturant my sister was sad because she noticed that one of the pearls fell out of her brand new earrings!  When she showed me I knew IMMEDIATELY that I could fix it for her!

Here is a picture of the "broken" earring!  Sorry about the quality of the picture...I took the picture with my phone and it was the only before picture that I took.  Here you can see the earring on the left hand side is missing the big pearl in the middle.

VIVA Decor to the rescue!

The next day I grabbed my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Cream and made a layer where the pearl was supposed to be.  I let that dry and then added another layer building up the pearl to match the depth of the other earring.  In this after picture you can see the "new" pearl in the earring.  The VIVA pearl earring is on the left hand side.  I love how beautiful the VIVA pearl looks!  Now no one will ever know my sister's earring was "broke!"
Here is a close up of the VIVA pearl!  I love the swirled pearl effect that I got by building up the layers of the pearl!  I almost wanted to pull the pearl out of the other earring and redo it! :)  And maybe I just will!!!

Now you know VIVA Decor Pens aren't just for paper....they can be used on ANYTHING!  If you don't have any of these pens....what are you waiting for!  They are amazing!  Click -->here<-- to go get some....and if you have some of these fantastic pens....click -->here<-- to go to the SCACD blog and enter our challenge because this week it's all about VIVA!

TIOT - Viva Style

Happy Thursday my dear friends!  I hope you are having a joyous week!  Today is my final exam in my first summer class...TOOT TOOT!  I'm so excited.....one down and one more to go!  YIPPY!!!

Gimmie a "V".....gimmie a "I"....gimmie another "V"......gimmie a "A".....what does that spell?  VIVA!  This week's challenge over at the SCACD Blog is to use LOTS of Viva Decor Products on your projects!
Today I have a fun card to share with you and it's full of Viva!  If you don't know about the Viva Decor Products....you are in the right place because I have used 3 different VIVA products on my project for today!
I have used the wonderful Watering Can accessory stamp that is only available in the Hearts and Hugs - Summer Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD!  This stamp is so beautiful and perfect for any type of card!  I have more fun planned later this week with this stamp so make sure you stop back to see what other things you can make with this beauty!  Of course the image has been stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.
This is actually an easel card that I made using my Spellbinders Large Big Scallop Square nesties!  The matting has been made using the Large Scalloped Square and Large Square nesties. On the swirls and butterflies you will see lots of pearls...these were created with my Viva Decor Pearl Pens.  I have used the Lilac Pearl Pen on the butterflies and on the swirls I've used my Cream Pearl Pen.
Here you can see my flower arrangement made with a Prima Hydrangea decked out with Viva Decor Glitter Pen (Holo), and Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Along the edge of the image I've also used my Viva Decor Glitter Pen (Holo)...I love how this glitter liner keeps its shape and stands out!
Here is the bottom of the easel card.  I've used my Labels 9 nestie for the sentiment and again lined with my Viva Decor Glitter Liner (Holo).  The cute bow was of course made with my Bow Easy!  If you don't have this tool you NEED to get it....it's definitely a MUST HAVE in my book!  For only $5 this tool is so worth the money!  I would be LOST without mine!  I absolutely LOVE making bows now!
Finally here is an angle picture of my image.  Here you can see the "dew" that I created in my scene.  I took my Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Pen and added a few small drops on the flowers and leafs to create that "just watered" look.  Then I added more of this gloss to the top of the watering can to look as if the can is plump full with water, and finally finished with a little bit of this gloss on the tip of the spout for the "wet look."  I've also added some Illuminate Smooch to the butterfly, hearts, and centers of flowers for some extra sparkle.

I hope you've enjoyed my project!  Now I can't wait to see your projects with VIVA!!!  Make sure you link your creation -->here<--!

WOJ #81 - Photo Inspiration

Hi Friends~

Edited To Add:  I have now updated the pictures so they look WAY better now...I love using natural light much better than my daylight lamp!!!  :)  I've also added details to my card!  Hope you enjoy!

This is going to be a short post, and I apologize!  I was gone for a few days....my hubby had a funeral director's convention in Madison, WI (which is about 3 1/2 hours away from home) and he wanted me to go along with for a few days....so I went along for a mini-vacation.  It was such a nice get away...did some shopping so that is always fun!!!  We just got back last night so I don't have a lot of time to write up this post...have school today, and a final exam for my first summer class tomorrow (eekkk)!  I will definitely come back later today and add more photos and information! :)

It's been two week's again so that means we have another fun filled WOJ Challenge!  This week we have a photo inspiration challenge! These challenges are so fun to see the different ways people can interpret the same photo!
Here is my card which I am not happy with the picture....so I will be taking a better photo and sharing it with you later today!  I have used a Norma Fickel stamped called Strawberry Girl!  Isn't she so cute?!  I love all the big spaces of the gnomes to color and blend!
Here is the fun photo where you can get your inspiration for our fun challenge.
Here is a close up of Miss. Strawberry!  I colored her with Copics and Copic Spicas.   She's been cut out with my Octagon Nesties (which they happen to be 25% off at SCACD right now!) as well as the poka-dot paper behind her.  The large square was cut with my Big Scallop Square Nestie and then I used Platinum Stickles to outline it.
Flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts!  I have used 10mm open roses, 4mm closed rosebuds, and a white Gardenia that I used my Copic ABS and airbrushed it to match the color scheme of my other roses!
The strawberry charm was silver....Did you know that you can color charms with your Copics?!  If you didn't now you know you can!  I love my copics because you can color ANY type of material to match your colored image!

I hope you enjoyed the edited pictures/post! :)  I do hope that you will join us in our photo challenge, as I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations!

Again, I will be back later today to add better and more photos along with details of this card! :)

To Dad....From the Gang!

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are all enjoying your week...my first summer class is coming to a close next week...then only one more to go this summer!  YAY!  Today's my day for Try It Out Tuesday/Thursday over at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design.  This week's challenge is to create a project for Father's Day....and of course use a stamp from one of the lines that Susana carries in her store.  You can find them, -->here<--.
For my card I have used A Puppy is Love stamp from the newly released Hearts and Hugs Summer Collection by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD!  I tried this fun Wood Frame Technique by Michelle, but I turned my version into a card.  The wood frame was made with my Labels Eight nesties, Oval nestie, and distressed stripes Cuttlebug folder.  Once the panels were embossed I went over each panel with TH Distress Inks in both brushed corduroy and walnut stain to give it that wood look.
This cutie was colored with my Copics and accented with my white gel pen.  I went over the little girl's eyes and both puppy dog's eyes with Diamond Glaze for the real life look.  The baseball has been accented with a Red Spica to add a little bit of sparkle.
On the inside you can see I used two sentiment stamps that were stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa to create a wonderful greeting and added a rhinestone paw print to go along with the puppies in the image!  This card can be "From the Whole Gang....doggies included!"
Here is another view so that you can see the dimension from the embossing.  I hope you have liked this fun project!!  Make sure you head on over to the SCACD blog to see what the other girls have made, and of course to join in on the fun challenge.  You can link your Father's Day creation -->here<--.

Pretty Pink Tote!

Ok, I'm back...water aerobics was so much fun, being away from it for 3 weeks was hard so I was very happy to be back tonight!  I think I will sleep very good tonight now!  Now that I have kept you in suspense I won't keep you any longer, now onto the fun project that I promised you:
This is a fun tote bag that I have made with one of the Elisabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design from Sampler Edition #4 called "Little Suzanne."  This cutie pie is named after our very own Suzanne Dean...so appropriate with the "Copics" in hand!  :)
The tote has been decked out with some brown and pink fabric on the bottom half of the bag.  Then I used my scalloped circle nestie and cut a piece of brown felt, and used my circle nestie to cut a piece of BG Bittersweet paper for the layer behind the cute image.

Little Suzanne has been cut out with my blossom nestie.  She was colored with copics and accented with a white gel penViva Decor Glitter Liner (Holo) was added to her belt and hairband for some extra glitz.  I used chocolate Spica to get some more texture for her hair and add a soft sparkle.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid and decked out with my Viva Decor Glitter Liner (Holo) for lots of sparkle!  The gemstone sprays were from Susana, thanks so much hun they are perfect!
The tag was made with my EK Succss punch and SU Tiny Tags and Teeny Tiny Wishes sets.  Sentiment and small heart were stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa.
Here you can see the little notebook that has been altered with BG Bittersweet papers.  Sentiment is from PTI Take Note stamp set.  The cute colored pencils came in this cute cardboard tube and then I added fabric around the tube to match the tote.

I hope you have enjoyed this fun gift set!  It will be added shortly to my Handmade Shop.  Click -->here<-- to go to my Store!  Happy Shopping!
