MAMM #3 - Inka Gold & TonerTex

Hello again Friends~

WOW can you believe it's already the first Monday of the month?  WOW where did summer go huh?!  Sorry it' now Monday night....I ended up going to our town parade this morning and then to the carnival again for a while....then had to come home and do homework and now I can finally post some fun for you!!!

Sooooo since it's the 1st Monday of the Monday that means it's MAKE A MESS MONDAY over at SCACD!  Today Marti and I are showcasing the wonderful Viva Decor Inka Gold!  Don't let the name fool you...Inka Gold comes in MANY colors!!!  A little bit about Inka Gold....it is a creamy metal gloss paint that is very easy to apply.  Inka Gold can be applied to many surafces including paper, wood, polymer clay....it works best on absorbent/porous surfaces.  It's fast drying and once dry can be polished to bring out an even glossier shine.  When dry the finish is like a metallic gloss!  I love this stuff!!!!
First I took a wooden box....no primer needed.....then dipped my fingers into my Violet Inka gold jar and start rubbing the paste all over the box.  Normally when I use acrylic paint to paint wood it takes many many many coats....BUT with Inka Gold it only took ONE COAT to cover the whole box completely!  The paste spreads super easy, and if you don't want to get your fingers dirty (although it washes easily off with soap and water) you can use a foam brush to paint the paste on.  Once the paint is dry you can then take a paper towel and rub in circular motions to buff the paint which will leave a glossy shine!  Seriously this stuff is awesome!!!!
Next I decided to try using the Inka Gold in the context of a card!  I used the Viva Decor Inka Gold in Steel Blue for my next project!
For this card I've once again used my Kraftin Kimmie Arianna stamp set!  DP is once again from the fabulous Prima Fairy Flower collection.  The ocean scene that Arianna and her seahorse friend are popped up on is made using some WONDERFUL VIVA DECOR products!!!

Arianna, seaweed, and Mr. Seahorsy were colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen. For their awesome ocean I took a plain piece of white cardstock and covered it totally with Viva Decor Inka Gold in Steel Blue.  The wonderful thing about the Inka Gold is that a little bit goes a very long way!  After the Inka Gold dried on my paper I then took my Viva Decor Champagne Modeling Cream with just a teeny tiny bit of Dreamweaver Eye of Tiger Mica Powder.  Then I smoothed the modeling cream over the bottom portion of the paper, after the modeling cream was smoothed on I grabbed a paint brush and dabbed the edge of the brush all over for the textured effect.  Then I took my stencil brush, dipped it in the Eye of Tiger Mica powder, held the brush over my paper and tapped the edge of the brush so flecks of the mica powder fell on the modeling cream for the specks in the sand.  And voila you have one beach scene!  How cool is that?  And VERY easy to do!!!
Flowers are from the fabulous Wild Orchid Crafts!  Arrangement consists of a large 35mm Wild Rose, two 25mm Hybrid Tea Roses, two 15mm roses, and two 10mm roses.
From this view you can see all the bling and sparkle to this magnificent mermaid!  Arianna has some gorgeous sparkles in her hair thanks to my Sakura Star Dust pen.  The amazing bling on her fins and tail are thanks to my TonerTex Pen and Foils. The foils are so easy to use and there are amazing and fun patterns you can get along with solid colors.  I'm hoping you can kind of see the metallic of the Steel Blue Inka Gold from this view too!

Now make sure you go and get your FUN Viva Decor Inka Gold to play with!!!  :)

**NEW PRODUCT ALERT** Susana has recently gotten a very unique crafting product in!  It's a line called Epiphany Crafts and these are indivudal tools where you can make your own customized buttons and epoxy bubbles (you know...the ones like Prima makes with the cute designs)...now you can make YOUR OWN  and they will match your creation PERFECTLY!  How awesome is that?!  Make sure you go and check these out...I think they are TOTALLY reasonable in price!  I sure can't wait to get my order now!!!

TIOT #82 - Three Things from SCACD + A Stamp

Hello Friends~

It's Thursday....and that means it's my 1st day of school!  Ahhhhh....where did my short summer vacation go?!  At least this should be my LAST YEAR in school....Woo-Hoo!!!!  The count down is on!!!  Yippy!!!!

Thursday also means it's TIOT over at SCACD!  Today Suzanne has challenged us to use 3 products from SCACD & a stamp too!  Ooooo I think I went a little over board...used way more than 3 products!  I can't wait to share some of the NEW products with you!!!

I decided to make an Underwater Themed Card using one of the KKS from the Mermaid collection, this cutie is Arianna.  Isn't she adorable?  I figured since summer is coming to an end I would ink up this beauty before the leaves start to fall.  I've used papers from K&Company Jubilee collection!  Viva Decor Turquoise Pearl Pen was used in the upper left hand corner to get the custom size pearls I needed.
Arianna has been colored Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  Then I've used the BRAND NEW TonerTex Pen and Glitters on Miss. Arianna's tail and fins!  OMG you sooooo have to get one of these...it makes applying glitter so easy and with little mess!  Suzanne has a fab video -->HERE<-- showcasing this fab product!  Check it out if you haven't already!  You can also use this pen to add beautiful foils to your products!  I have projects coming up using the foils!!!  Now I'm hoping you are wondering how I created my water scene behind Arianna.....well this is a combination of Dreamweaver Metallic Gold Embossing Paste mixed with Eye of the Tiger Mica powder to get this fun warm sand.  After I mixed the two together I just smoothed it on my white cardstock to dry.  The water is created using Viva Decor Precious Metal in Blue Lagoon, which is a metallic paint that I just applied to the cardstock as well....and Voila one water scene created! :)  The scene is then popped up on top of the Brand New SB Beaded Ovals!

Now for these fun seashells....aren't they so stinking cute?!  Love them!  They were made using the Dreamweaver Scallop Stencil.  I mixed Dreamweaver Metallic Gold Embossing Paste with Glacier Mica powder to get this beautiful blue-green color and it shimmer golds as you turn the card! Absolutely gorgeous!  Then I grabbed my TonerTex Pen and glitters again and edged all the seashells to give them some bling!

I hope you've enjoyed my sample today!  I lost count....but I'm sure it's WAYYYYY over 3 products that I've used for you! Hee hee!  Hope you all have a wonderful day and for those of you in the US I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!  Our town hosts a huge celebration all weekend so we will be busy with all of that.  Hubby and I work the annual car show every year....so that will be my whole Saturday...but no school on Monday because of labor day....yay maybe I can get some crafty time in then! :)

WOJ #84 - Fuzz It

Hello Everyone~

Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!  CHA has been awesome...got a migraine at the end of day one so that hasn't been the greatest...hoping the headache goes away REAL fast!  This week at WOJ Challenge Blog Donalda has put together a very fun challenge!  This week is to FUZZ your projects!  This can be felt, flower soft, flock, anything fuzzy!
For my card I have used this new cutie from the Summer Store Stamp Kit.  I absolutely love this cutie!  I paired her up with some Cosmo Cricket DeLovely papers.  The edge of my papers have been stickalized with star dust stickles.
Of course the image of this bathing beauty and the starfish were colored with Copics.  I've tried coloring her with darker "skin" colors to make it look like she got a tan.  Then, I've used Silver Spica on her sunglasses and then coated the lenses with diamond glaze for a more realistic "sunglass" look.  For my Fuzz I have added ultra fine flower soft in sand to parts of the beach, and then I took white flock and created some white puffy clouds in my airbrushed sky.  The beach scene was created with my Copic ABS.
Flower are from the famous, Wild Orchid Crafts.  This first arrangement uses the Daffodils and 6mm closed rosebuds.
The bottom arrangement was made with 35mm Large 2-colored Wild Rose, another Daffodil, and some 15mm yellow roses that I took my Copic ABS and airbrushed to match the large wild rose being 2 colors.
Finally here is another view so that you can see the "fuzz" on my project better.

You're Fantastic & a Tutorial

Happy Friday!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I just got home from the funeral....it was sad, but I loved spending time after the service with my friend's family (or as I call them my "adopted" family)...they are the greatest!

Today I have a fun card to share with you and a tutorial too!  Lots of fun here today! :)  Do you remember -->THIS<-- project that I shared with you back in June?  Well I used the same image and made a tutorial to share with you how to create the beach scene that I made!  The tutorial, can be found  -->HERE<--  over at the SCACD Blog!  :)

Now onto the card, which I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday.
MME Bloom and Grow papers have been used on this card.   I have used By the Sea by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD.  She is from the Hearts and Hugs Summer Collection

I've colored her with Copics.  She has then been cut out with Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval.  For the background piece I have used Labels 11 and on the edges I have used my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Kiwi and after making my pearls I then covered them with Glamour Dust for more sparkle.
Flower are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I've again used white flowers and my Copic ABS to airbrush them with the colors to match my cutie pie's swimsuit.  I've used  a Gardenia, and two 20mm roses. Flowers have been spritzed with Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer.

One more angle shot so you can see how the finished water looks!  Now head over -->HERE<-- to the SCACD blog to check out the tools you need to make your own water scene!  I'd also love if you'd link your water projects over at the tutorial because I'd really love to see your water work! :)

**Shopping News** Susana has recently gotten some amazing products in at the SCACD store!  She now has NEW SEI Velvet Papers...don't these sound amazing?! I can't wait to hold these in my hand!  She also has gotten in some jewelry findings....think pendants that you can create with....I definitely can't wait to get my hands on both of these products!!!  I'm super excited to create with both of them!!!  Happy Shopping to you!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!!  I'm gearing up for my trip to Chicago for CHA!!!  YIPPY!!!!!

Milestone Day!

First I want to start by welcoming Elaine, Lori, Alex, and Jacquie to the SCACD DT!  These girls do amazing work, so make sure you stop by their blogs and say hello!  Along with our new members we did a little rearranging with our TIOT teams, so instead of me being on the Tues Team I will now be on the Thurs Team! Again we all do the same challenge, we just split up the inspiration into two days for you!

This week's challenge is the first challenge of the month so that means if you play along you get the chance to win a stamp from Susana's Store!  For the details click, -->here<--.  This week Suzanne has challenged us to create an invitation with a twist...and that twist is to use only RED, WHITE, and BLUE!  In case you haven't noticed the theme this week on my blog is BIRTHDAYS....all of my cards this week have a BIRTHDAY THEME to them because today marks a HUGE MILESTONE in my life:

TODAY is my 30th Birthday!!!!
Seeing how it's my birthday today I thought I would make my invitation a pool party invitation and what better then with a fun beach pail shaped card.  You can find the tutorial, here.
And you can't have a card without some fun Viva Decor Glitter!  I've used the Viva Decor Ruby Glitter Liner to edge my shovel.
Here is the fun inside!  Of course I couldn't resist using the NEW By the Sea by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD!  I think this is my ultimate favorite one in the collection!  The image has been cut out with my Labels 4 Nestie. The invitation wording has been computer generated.
This cutie was of course colored with Copics, and accented with a white gel pen.  Of course I had to "paint" her toenails too!
And from this view you can see the shine to the water, water drops and her eyes that has been created with Diamond Glaze.

I hope you have enjoyed my invitation!  Make sure you head over to the SCACD Blog to check out what the other girls have made!  I have school this morning but then I am off to enjoy the rest of my birthday...heck you only turn the BIG 3-0 once!  Good think my weekend starts at Noon TODAY...no more classes until Monday!  Yee-Haw!!!

Quixotic Paperie Blog Hop

Welcome to the
Quixotic Paperie
First Anniversary
Blog Hop!

Today my great friend Elaine is celebrating the 1st Anniversary of her store, Quixotic Paperie, and we're having a celebratory blog hop!  Elaine asked me a while back if I would like to contribute to her blog hop and I didn't have to think twice...I immediately said YES!!!  If you're already following the hop, you should have hopped over here from Katie Cotton's blog!  If not, then hop back to the beginning at the Quixotic Paperie Blog where you can find the line up! You won't want to miss a stop, because in addition to lots of fantastic inspiration, there are also some prizes too (details can be found on the Quixotic Paperie Blog).

A little bit about Elaine's awesome store:
Quixotic Paperie was started on June 1st 2009 by Elaine Hughes.  Having been an avid crafter (and craft shopper!) for a number of years, Elaine wanted to share her passion and see where it might take her - so, Quixotic Paperie was born!  Since then, the store has grown, and now stocks a fabulous range of rubber stamps from around the world: The Greeting Farm, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, SCACD Stamps, Paper Makeup Stamps, Belles 'n Whistles, the Mo Manning for Stamping Bella range, Stempelglede and more!  In addition, the store carries a large range of charms and embellishments, and a host of gorgeous papers for all your crafty projects! If Elaine loves it, you will probably find it at Quixotic Paperie!  In November 2009 the Quixotic Challenges blog was started, where you can find weekly inspiration from the wonderful Quixotic Paperie Design Team, and join in for the chance to win a monthly prize.

I would love to wish Elaine continued success with her store, and thanks again for asking me to be a part of your blog hop hun! :)

Now, onto my project!   To celebrate Quixotic Paperie's Birthday I thought it would be perfect to make a birthday gift set!
And since it's summer what would be better than a fun summer card and summer scented candle!
For my card I have used the NEW SCACD By the Sea stamp along with some gorgeous papers from the Pretty Please Collection by My Mind's Eye.  The fun computer sentiment was computer generated by me! :)
Miss. By the Sea was of course colored with Copics.  My Viva Decor Glitter Liner (Holo) was added to the water ripples for some sparkle.  I've airbrushed the sky with my handmade cloud template for a soft look.  The sand is created by adding some fun Ultra Fine Sand Flower Soft.  The small glitter dots on the Labels 10 die at made with my Viva Decor Gloss Pen and Glamour Dust.
Here's a close up of my flower corsage!  I've added diamond Stickles to give them some extra sparkle!
The triple bow has been created with my Bow Easy.  The starfish charm has been added with some chain and jump rings.  You can find a similar starfish charm at Elaine's -->here<--.
And here is the candle!  I've added matching papers and ribbon to dress up my candle!  And what better then to put a Happy Birthday sentiment on the candle to coordinate with the card theme!
Lastly, I would like to share one more view of Miss. By the Sea with you!  This one shows the shimmer and shine!  I've painted over the water, water drops, and By the Sea's eyes with Glossy Accents to give them the "real life" look!  Illuminate Smooch has been added to this cutie's skirt, sailboat on her swimsuit, and the flowers on her swim cap for some glitz!

I want to thank you so much for stopping here along the hop!  I hope you enjoy the rest of your stops!  Your next stop is Julie Baker!

InStyle Challenge - Summer

Mary has cooked up another fantastic Wednesday challenge over at the InStyle Stamps blog. This week we want to see your summer cards! To get all the details for the challenge, click HERE!

I decided to use the digis Leila and Ariel for my summer card. When I think of summer I always think of the beach....I am a total tropical girl.....don't know why I live in the midwest.....but I do love to go on vacation to the ocean/beach! These two girls are so much fun and so summery to me! I wanted to create a beach scene so I put Leila on the beach watching Ariel swim in the ocean. TH distress inks and cosmetic sponges were used to create the sunset.
A close up of Leila:
