ISS Wednesday Challenge - Buttons

This week's challenge over at the InStyle Stamps blog is BUTTONS! I normally don't use buttons on my cards....so this was a nice change for me! Our friends just had a baby girl a couple week's ago so I decided to make my challenge card a baby card for them. Click here to go and read all the details so you can enter our fun challenge!!!

I have used Ava a new fairy stamp that will be released the end of August during our InStyle Stamps blog hop (the last friday of the month). Isn't she a cutie? I love the banner she is holding where you can add whatever message you would like! Perfect for my Teeny Tiny Wishes stamps from SU!
Of course I had to use my new pendant nesties too! These are so much fun and have so many different uses! Such as putting them behind my flowers...I love the look that gives! I LOVE them!!!

I am also entering this card in a few challenges this week! At A Spoonful of Sugar the challenge is to use flowers on your card...yup, used lots of flowers here! Also at Copic Creations their challenge is coloring Anime Eyes....and seeing how ISS is their sponsor this week I of course have to enter that one! You can win new fairy stamps that aren't even released yet....how cool is that! Finally I am going to enter this in the Simon Says Challenge which is to use buttons & ribbon on your creation! Gotta love the teddy bear ribbon!!!

I'm having so much fun being back in my craft corner, sure beats studying! WELCOME summer!!! I also have some VERY fun news to share!!! In about a week and a half I will be taking a trip across state to become COPIC CERTIFIED!!!! WOO-HOO!!!! I am so excited to be taking the Copic class and am looking very forward to it! I still can't believe I was chosen to attend!

InStyle Challenge - Summer

I decided to use the digis Leila and Ariel for my summer card. When I think of summer I always think of the beach....I am a total tropical girl.....don't know why I live in the midwest.....but I do love to go on vacation to the ocean/beach! These two girls are so much fun and so summery to me! I wanted to create a beach scene so I put Leila on the beach watching Ariel swim in the ocean. TH distress inks and cosmetic sponges were used to create the sunset.

ISS Wednesday - Birthday Challenge

A Day Late and A Dollar Short:

Yes, yesterday was the InStyle Stamps Wednesday Challenge....and this week our theme is Happy Birthday! I had planned to have my card done and posted for yesterday morning; however, there was some tragic news in my hometown on Tuesday (you can see the info here), so I didn't get my card done until today. I did not know the people involved in the tragic event, but it is still sad and so close to home.

But now on to the card! I used Mellie from ISS along with the sketch over at Sketch Saturday! She is so sweet with her cake!!! I want to dedicate this card to Mary who is on the DT over at ISS with me! It was her birthday yesterday, so this was made in honor of her!!!! Happy Birthday Hun!!! I used pink liquid applique on Mellie's cake for the frosting....but totally forgot to do my nestie cutout until after I already had the frosting made and fluffed...so when I ran Mellie through my cuttlebug her frosting made a mess all over...but I did manage to save the image (just barely)! Her frosting did look much better before her cuttlebug experience! LOL!

InStyle Stamps Wednesday Challenge - Flowers

Virginia (our wonderful boss over at ISS) gave us the digi image of Leila to play with for this week's challenge! Isn't she so adorable? I think she's super cute! She would be perfect for any summer card, birthday/party invitations, or just a fun thinking of you card! When I saw her I immediately knew I wanted to create a card in the shape of a seashell (yes, I even free-hand drew it...and I don't think it came out too terrible at all....don't you just love pleasantly surprising yourself....I really do stink at drawing!!!) I didn't want to cover up the kraft cs seashell so I only accented the card a little bit.
