Dancing the Night Away

Do you all have plans for the New Year?  My hubby and I will be celebrating at home, as my hubby has been busy working with no end in sight.  Which is ok with me because I have been studying studying and even more studying this past week.  I take my next CPA exam on Jan. 3rd....eeek!  Hoping to pass this one!  Yesterday I took a couple hours away from my book and decided to color for a bit.
This is my entry for the Color Me Creative - Holiday Color Challenge which was to use Gold, White & Cream!  I had so much fun making this card.....and can you believe I used NO dp?!  I was in awe myself!  I was searching high and low for the perfect gold/cream/white dp and couldn't find what I wanted so I decided to make my own!  The glittlery cream cardstock is from DCWV, and then I found some metallic gold cardstock and finally I made my own dp!  My dp was made using Brilliance Gold Ink, a Sizzix embossing folder and some white cardstock.  And I love how it turned out!  My dp was decorated using my SB Edgeabilities (Classic Ric Rac and Classic Scallops) and finished off with some May Arts Lacey Ribbon.  Sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages and was embossed using TH Gold Embossing powder.
This cutie is Happy Days by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and she is a part of the Odds & Ends Sampler.  I love this collection to pieces!  Miss. Happy Days was colored with Copics and accented with my pastel pencils.  Her shoes, sweater cuffs, hair ties, and shirt got a gorgeous coat of Diamond Stickles.  Her belt buckle was accented using my Gold Spica Pen.

Copic Colors Used: skirt/shirt/shoes/belt: YR20, YR24, Y15, Y26, Y28, Jacket: Y21, Y26, Y32, Hair: E33, E53, E57, E59, skin: E000, E00, E11, R11, R20.
Wild Orchid Crafts arrangement was made using a 35mm Trellis Rose, 25mm Wild Rose, 15mm Roses, 10mm Rose, 8mm Semi-opened Roses, Gold Glitter Holly Berries, Gypsophilas, Gold Heart Pin, and Decorative Crown pin.  Flowers were glittered with Diamond Stickles because I love the gold sparkle that this leaves.  And finally the arrangements was finished with some Zva Creative Gold Rhinestone Swirls.
And one more angled view so you can see all the shimmer, glitter, sparkle, and dimension!  I hope you have enjoyed my creation!

Wishing you and your family
a Very Happy New Years!

WOJ #83 - Sketch by Bev

Hello Friends....Happy Wednesday!  Hope you are all having a wonderful week!  Today I'm HALF way done with my last summer class....Thank God!  I'm hoping the next four weeks go smoothly!  Two papers down and two more + one presentation to go!  Too bad the next two papers are the hard ones.....Grrrr!

But...onto much more fun and exciting things....like the Whiff of Joy Challenge for this week!  Woo-Hoo!  For challenge #83 Bev has provided us with a SUPER fun sketch!  Thanks for that Bev! ;)
As you can see I have used one of the BRAND NEW City Girls from Collection II!  This is Willow with Cocktail!  I just love her sitting there drinking her cosmopolitan....maybe I need one of these to un-stress from my class!!!!  I've used some MME papers from the Meadowlark Dusk Collection...I think these are my new favorite....oh wait....I love paper....Yes...my name is Kim and I'm addicted to paper, Copics, stamps, and flowers!  hee hee!
As you can see this is Bev's wonderful sketch!  I have actually turned it on it's side for my card....and will definitely use this sketch again!
Miss. Willow has been colored with Copics and cut out with a Spellbinders Labels 4.  I thought she looked funny sitting in mid-air so I tried to make it look like she was sitting on a ledge somewhere.  I've also used my Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen to give Willow a pearl necklace, earrings, and anklet.
And we all know that I can't make a card without adding flowers!  hee hee!  To this card I have added a White Flat Gardenia that is from Wild Orchid CraftsStar dust stickles has been applied to bling this beauty up a bit although this flower is so gorgeous in real life it would not even need bling because it's so stunning!!!

NOW...I hope that you decide to play along with this challenge as Katharina has very generously offered a Fun in the Sun Stamp Kit as a prize for 1 lucky participant!!!  Remember in order to be in the drawing to win this amazing prize you need to make a card with Bev's sketch and you NEED TO USE A WOJ STAMP! :)  Happy Creating!!!!  Now make sure you head over to the WOJ Challenge Blog to see what the other girls have made....their creations are going to leave you breath-less!

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe it's already a new year!  WOW how times sure does fly!  I want to wish all of you a happy, healthy, and successful 2010!  I've made so many wonderful friends since I began my blog back in 2008!  Thank you all for taking time to stop by my blog and seeing my creations; and even more for leaving your kind words, they truly make my day! :)

Today I am sharing a WOJ creation with you!  This is the New Years card that I made for my hubby.  I'm entering this in the Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge (that is to create a New Beginnings theme which mine is New Years!); Stamp With Fun, and Everybody Art Challenge which is to make a New Years Card also!

I've used Charlie and colored him to look exactly like my hubby! :)  While I was creating this I actually was calling him Brent instead of Charlie!  Yes...I'm strange and talk to my stamps and images as I create!  I've used DCWV All Dressed Up dp and cardstock.  The shiney silver paper that the dp squares are adhered to is American Crafts Specialty Foil paper in silver.  My Fleur De Lis pendant was used for the background of Charlie.  I used shimmery DCWV black paper (from the Le Creme collection) for the pendant.

Charlie was colored with my Copics.  I used my Black Spica for the pinstripe on Charlie's pant legs and also for his bow tie.  I used my Silver Spica on the bow tie as well.

I used the smaller die from the Fleur De Lis pendant set, cut them in half and used them for the corners on the inside of the card.

Happy New Year!

This week at Magnolia vs. Stampavie there was a sketch challenge! I just love sketch challenges...if you haven't noticed! :) However, I was trying to figure out how I was going to interpret this one....I didn't have 3 Magnolias that I liked all together to use in each window (and I don't have any Stampavie stamps....YET...hope to in the near future...hee hee)....but I have Tilda with Vine and Basket that I thought would make a SUPER cute New Years card! Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar and Everybody Art Challenge their challenges were to make a New Years card so this was going to be perfect to use for all the challenges!

Here's the Magnolia vs. Stampavie sketch created by Donna.
And now for my interpretation of the sketch! I decided to rotate the sketch. Tilda is colored with my Copics which both are purchased from Wish On A Scrap. The red paper is Bo Bunny, and the black is some more of my wedding invitation paper left over. Ribbons, primas, brad, and spacer is from my stash. Tilda is double pop dotted to stand up off of the card. And the middle panel "New Year" is pop dotted up. I love all the dimension of this card! Wish I could share the 3D-ness with you!
And of course couldn't get away without decorating the inside of the card! Again paper is left over from my wedding invitations! I just love that paper....it's a very thick black card stock with lots of shimmer to it! I'm going to be sad when it's all gone! Good thing I still have a few pieces left to play with!
I want to thank everyone who comes and visits my blog and leaves such wonderful comments! I have met so many wonderful people from all over the world in the past 8 months, and I am so happy to call you all friends!
Sending my wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy, successful, creative and inky 2009!
